    "While WBC Super Featherweight champion, Julio César Chávez wanted to fight top contender Roger Mayweather for a promoter other than Don King. The WBC withheld its sanction of the fight until Don King became promoter."

    "When Mike Tyson lost to James "Buster" Douglas during a WBC and WBA Heavyweight championship defense, Don King convinced the WBC (along with the WBA) to withhold recognition of Douglas as heavyweight champion. King claimed that Tyson had actually won the fight due to knocking down Douglas and the referee giving Douglas a “long count."[7] Referee Octavio Meyran, in a sworn affidavit, claims that King threatened to have the WBC withhold payment of Meyran's hotel bill if Meyran did not support King's protest.[8] Because of intense public pressure, both the WBA and WBC backed down and recognized Douglas as champion. "

    "Zab Judah going into his match with Floyd Mayweather with the IBF welterweight championship. Carlos Baldomir defeated Judah by decision in Judah's previous fight, but only paid the sanctioning fee to the WBC. Judah also had the WBA and IBF championships. While the WBA vacated Judah's "super" title ("regular" titleholder Luis Collazo became undisputed WBA champion), the IBF let Judah keep the title despite losing. "

    "The organization's (IBF) reputation was seriously damaged in 1999, however, as Lee resigned as the IBF's President upon conviction on racketeering and other violations for taking bribes in exchange for high boxer rankings."

    They are all absolute bollocks. Recently though (today) the WBA have been the worst.

    WBC and IBF are clearly the more credible belts.

    WBO and WBA are together at the same level of crap.

    The WBO is the newest one, but if the IBF is credible, you have to make the WBO credible. I just stopped at WBO. I figured that is the last one I can recognize. The most credible would have to be the WBC. But that is just on time. Fact is the WBO is now a legit. title. If you are talking about the champs and who is legit. Well Vitali. Forget the belts, he is just the best guy now.

    That's exactly the way I feel. They are all illegitimate and a cancer on the sport. But the WBA has really been working hard to outdo the others lately.

    i really wish they could all be bought out, and there only be one legit championship belt. The Ring Belt. It would be nice if we could go back to there being one and ONLY champ per weight.

    wba and wbc are the only considered belts in japan but what the wba has been doing lately, they are slowly losing their credibility..
