Normally when we think of KO artists we always think of them as generally entertaining or exciting fighters who always look for the KO right from the start. But there have been some exceptions where a fighter packs a good punch and high KO ratio but just are so dull to watch. Who are some of the least entertaining knockout artists in your opinion, ones that you can’t stand watching despite having power? Always found both Klitschko brothers usually boring when they’re at their most dominant.
Didn`t know Norton had a high KO percentage. De La Hoya didn`t knock out many guys above lightweight, at lightweight he was very easy to hit and changed his style as he moved up.
A lot people felt Lewis was a bore and he was a devastating puncher, but I don`t know if his KO percentage was high enough to be able to call him a KO artist, did he have a higher KO percentage than Ken Norton though?
Corrie Sanders was a very hard puncher and fast starter. If an opponent proved durable like Ross Puritty, and could last a few rounds Sanders was then known to be much more patient and outbox his opponent.
Wladimir Klitschko is the best pick for this. A horrid grinding style despite his excellent grasp of fundamentals and ring generalship, I imagine more of his fights would’ve been more fun (and over more quickly) had he consistently had the conviction to throw his left hook. Someone like Holt could sometimes be like watching paint dry, as he wasn’t effective enough to consistently get his shots off so would sometimes sleepwalk through fights.
Thanks, I agree with all of that, I had in the back of my head that Norton knocked a big name out, Quarry`s a good scalp and had a chin that took tons of shots off Frazier and I could never work Oscar out but yes Quartey really exposed his basic defense and lack of head movement.
