Honestly this is how I feel as well. I will still watch, and I guess it's good Floyd decided to fight him at 154 so he does actually have a win against Cotto on his record, at a weight more suited for Cotto than him. But I don't think Cotto post Margo is such a great win for any top fighter. We've seen how Cotto reacts when facing a better fighter, I'd much rather see how Canelo reacts.

Nothing special about Cotto's level of skill. A skilled fighter doesnt go into survival mode against Joshua Clottey. A skilled fighter doesnt have his best punch timed by Pacquiao.

Much better fight than Ortiz and JMM. Much better.

Well, Cotto had a bad cut early in that fight and Clottey is a pretty skilled fighter himself.

Pac wasn't really timing Cotto, he was just overwhelming him with his speed and punches from all angles.

Ortiz a southpaw who is bigger and younger then Floyd, coming off his biggest win.

And JMM who schooled Pacquiao at the same weight he fought Floyd at.

    Umm no.

there's a video on youtube of Pacquiao timing Cotto's jab.

Now if Pac was timing Cotto's jab, my god, Mayweather. :patsch

:deal Cotto is good. But he's not been running through his competition making him this super great fighter everyone wants him to be. Cotto hasn't truly impressed me once since the first Margarito fight.

Nah, man had that jab timed within two rounds. Every time he threw it he ate a sneaky left

Just cause he did it once or twice don't mean he was timing him the whole fight. It was Pac's speed and angles. Both KDs were from a punch Cotto didn't see coming.

I too have a very hard time seeing how exactly Cotto is supposed to win this fight, but I think one can hold that position while also believing a fight with Cotto at 154 is better for Floyd's resume than Ortiz, Marquez, and Hatton.

Cotto beats all those guys you listed with the exception of Oscar, but that's more due to a styles thing. This is a great fight.

But what Mayweather said was exactly true. Canelo is a bit too green. I would have enjoyed the fight, but he would've been picked apart for fighting him now.

Wait about a year and it'll be much more tolerable. Cotto was the next best step.

And we've seen Mayweather deal with a size disadvantage, many times. It's nothing new when that's the only advantage an opponent has over him.
