Yup. And he hit the canvas in that fight, just like he will against the top HWs. The difference is he won't get up from a HW punch.
Fragomeni is nothing special. Wlodarczyk missed the opportunity to KO him. Haye has fought well at European level but he never proved himself globally. Mormeck was over the hill. Let's not lie ourselves.
While it is true Haye's win does not look as good as it used to be, I still think he has done enough to get a shot at Klitschko (and I am not his fan). If you compare him to Rahman who got his shot literally for nothing (OK, he was a substitute) or Chagaev (almost inactive) he definitely does not look worse than them.
So Haye is better than Lennox Lewis? Does he hit harder than Peter? Does he have better boxing skill than Gomez? Better defense than Byrd? Better chin than Hoffman? More speed than Hide? Open mouth, insert foot....................
Well that is just a matter of the fact... And how he fought against that journeyman, Jesus. Your fellow countrymen Boxed better.
yap. i never rated macc' anyway, hayes been down to the likes of mormeck, lenga mott, thompson etc and we are supposed to believe he is the saviour of the HW division? vitali should be charged for crimes against humanity for accepting this fight.
I cannot stand Haye....I think a lot of people on this forum can attest to that fact. However, I am not sure that this criticism is fair. Maccarinelli was one of the top crusierweights in the world when he blasted him out and he may have ruined the little bit of chin he had left. Haye was a damn good crusierweight, annoying as **** and unproven at heavyweight. Give credit where it is due, Maccarinelli was a worthy opponent that Haye dusted.
Maccarinelli was a paper champ (WBO/ Frank Warrens sanct. body) in one of the worst weight classes. Some people, esp. Brits argue that Haye beats Klitschko because he beat the **** out of Macca.....
In answer to your (possibly rhetorical) questions in order: Is Haye better than Lennox Lewis? No. Not even better than that old, inactive, weary version of Lewis that beat Vitali. Does he hit harder than Peter? Probably not, but he's far more likely to land than that gargoyle. Does he have better boxing skill than Gomez? Offensively yes, defensively no. Is his defence is too dependant on his admittedly decent reflexes. Better defense than Byrd? No. Has he a better chin than Hoffman? No. More Speed than Hide? I'd say so. Hide never really landed a punch on anything other than corpses and never have-beens, other than a couple of blows he hit Bowe with. Anyway which heavyweight has all these attributes that you ask of Haye? One poster incorrectly claimed Haye was the best fighter Vitali would ever have faced. What you've done is taken the best attributes of a carefully selected group of fighters that Vitali has faced, rather than compare tham individually to Haye. I believe Haye will prove himself superior to Peter, Gomez, Byrd and Hoffmann as a heavyweight. After losing to Vitali that is.
He got mine when he knocked out a certain Berry Butler. The most brutal and savage ko I ve seen live in my life.Butler's corner went beserk and had to be overpowered by security forces.Butler seemed to be on the verge of passing into another dimension as he was lying on the ring dust for several minutes. It seemed to be a matter of life and death inside the ring.I thought Butler would be finished for good, but a couple of months ago I learnt that he was still in the business.
Yup. As limited as Fragomeni is, he was in his prime when he fought David Haye. Mormeck was completly shot and old when he fought Haye. Thats HAye's best win so far.
I don't get the Brits saying Haye, as a heavyweight, is just as good as Walker, Arreola, or Eddie Chambers. Hell he isn't as good a Povetchkin, Valuev, Ruiz, or the Ibragamovs and Sam Peter. Haye has done absolutely nothing whatsoever at Heavyweight to get a shot at a title besides run his mouth. I can't wait to see Vitali knock his punk ass out.
