    I don't think anyone in their right mind considers Bellew to be #1 at CW... Maybe Liverpool and a few deranged resident Brittards here. But that's about it :lol:

    Think this has come too early for Gassiev. Lebedev might be getting on in years but he looks as good as ever to me and he's much more experienced than Gassiev and IMO he holds advantages in most areas sans height, youth and maybe power. Gassiev is a beast but so is Lebedev only he's a more refined, skillful and experienced one than Gassiev. But Gassiev's power is such that it's even capable of cracking chins as sturdy as Lebedev's if he catches you clean.

    I am with you,mate! My gut feeling also keeps telling me that Lebedev should never ever accepted this kind of fights at this stage of his career.Lebedev is a great warrior,but he is getting old.Gassiev can punch like a mule-still a rookie as he hasnt faced a 10th of the quality opposition Lebedev has fought in his career.However,one big punch can make the difference.
    On the other hand Lebedev is a very good puncher,too.We will see which way the cat jumps very soon.I for one will feverisly rooting for Denis.I freely admit that I am great fan of this likeable old vet.He delivered the most brutal ko(against the American Berry Butler) Ive ever seen both on tv and live in an arena.Go,Denis ,go!

    I absolutely agree with you,mate! You hit the nail on the top! Usyk is an outstanding fighter and will probably rule the roost for many years to come but at this point of time Lebedev's record is just better than Usyk's one.

    This is a really good fight. It's too bad Showtime didn't pick this up with their international fights but things have been a bit slow on that end lately.

    Lebedev deserves to be rated as the top cruiserweight and this is a big step up for Gassiev. He's going from prospects like Shimmell and Thomas right to the top guy in the division.

    Having said that I think Gassiev wins this. I think he's catching Lebedev at the right time and stops him in the first half of the fight.

    If he doesn't get Lebedev out of there then he could be in trouble facing such an experienced fighter but I think he gets the job done. Gassiev by ko.

    While Lebedev is far more experienced and has better skills and ring IQ, Gassiev's height and reach advantage coupled with his brutal power are a serious challenge. The swan's best chance imho is to avoid going straight at him (unless he could surprise him and get inside, before Gassiev could land) keep coming at Gassiev from angles and put him under pressure. The bid guy does not feel very comfortable fighting off the back foot. I just hope I can find a way to watch a replay of this fight somewhere on the internet in the coming days:(:(
