There has been a lot of discussions surrounding this issue and it all boils down to the individual fighter and knowing Ricky like I do and having been out there for the past few camps, around 5 weeks or so is an ideal amount of time as it gives you time to adjust and get into Vegas time as well as having plenty of time for hard training. Any longer and it starts to grate on you a little. For Ricky I don't think it benefits him mentally, some people like to be away from everything and some don't. If Ricky was locked up for a long time it would drive him crazy and he wouldn't be in the right place mentally if he was there any longer than say 6 weeks but that's just my opinion."
On Pacquiao stating Ricky is one dimensional and Freddie Roach claiming that if Pacquiao boxes he wins easy.
"I have been to 's gym, and watched him train a couple of times and he makes lots of mistakes, mistakes that he also makes in fights. All fighters make mistakes but you have to be able to capitalise on them mistakes, for example against Mayweather Ricky couldn't capitalise on the mistakes Floyd was making. In this fight I believe that Manny will make the same mistakes as normal and Ricky will capitalise."
"If Ricky does get his shots off when these mistakes are made this fight could be a lot easier for Ricky than people think. I've seen sparring partners brought in for Ricky that were 130-135lbs and one guy, first time Ricky hit him it was over, he lasted 50 seconds, he had the fastest hands I'd seen and he ran around the ring and I thought to myself, Ricky may struggle to land a punch here, but then he did land one to the chest and the guy hit the deck and didn't get back up, they had to send him home there and then. So what I'm saying is that Ricky is a big Light Welter and Manny is in good shape for the weight but he is naturally smaller, in his fight with Marquez he was hit with a left hook that shook him, now I believe if Ricky were to land that same shot Manny would be knocked out"
"When Ricky hits Manny he is going to be shocked at the power, when Manny fought Oscar, Oscar was dead at the weight and never landed anything"
"If Ricky had of fought Oscar that night I think he would have stopped him earlier than Manny and I think that Diaz would have also been taken out earlier"
"Manny makes some massive errors and he is very repetitive in some of his movements and with certain punches and the way he throws them. "
"I think that Ricky will stop Manny within 6 rounds, I think the first time Ricky gets hold of him and unloads Manny wont know what's hit him. Ricky is a big Light Welter and has been in with some huge punchers, people like Kostya Tszyu and Juan Urango, obviously they haven't got the speed of Manny but Ricky has seen the speed before in Mayweather."
Which Sparring Partners would Lee like to see:
"I think the only one that's near to Pacquiao in terms of style is Edwin Valero and thats who I'd like to see us get in. I think that if you can adjust to him then its the closet thing you can get to Pacquaio and his record would suggest he hits as hard if not harder than Manny"
"If Manny is allowed to get into a rhythm in the first few rounds then it will be a very difficult fight for Ricky so he needs to make sure that he works hard in the gym to work on certain things to avoid Manny getting into that rhythm"
Lee on the prospect of Ricky getting cut in the fight
"Both fighters are similar height and there styles could mean their heads clashing and with Manny preferring Cleto Reyes gloves which are known as a punchers glove, so cuts are a concern but Ricky hasn't been cut badly in a while so I'm not thinking to much about cuts."

Hatton makes more errors than Pac. Pac can use his speed to make up for mistakes and it is easier for him to punish mistakes made by opponents

that depends if Ricky is fast enough to capitalize on Pac's mistakes. It doesnt happen very frequently and is usually when caught off balance. Ricky is a big puncher, same as Pac. Still depends on who can inflict the damaging punches early on.

i don't think Valero will be much preparation for Ricky. He has a very ugly and wild boxing style. It's like chalk and cheese. I agree with most of everything else said though.

The only mistakes I saw on Pac's latest fights is him pulling his shorts up and giving away free blows.

And Manny are knocking out sparmates weighting 147+lbs.And Manny is a lightweight titlist.

If Ricky didn't turned down Hoya's offer of fighting him first then he could have the right talking about it. All talks?

I approve of using Valero. :good

Totally agree mate... although i'm not so sure Manny is that big of a puncher at this weight. He hit a weight drained and not properly rehydrated (which effects punch resistence) ODLH with everything but the kitchen sink and never really wobelled him.

Most of what Lee has said is what i have said recently. Hatton has fought bigger punchers and has fought a man just as fast with better boxing ability in Mayweather so it is nothing new to him whereas Hattons power will be a whole new world to what pacman is used to. I have also said that Pacman repeats the same moves in all his fights and if he doesn't change the angles against Hatton he could become very predictable.

My money is still on a pac decision though

Pacman is my favorite because his my native.

Hatton also is one, your talking to a guy who happily lost $120 from betting and cheering for Hatton against Mayweather. :deal

Of course between the two, I pick the Pacman. :good

Pacquaio does make mistakes and is a little predictable but he makes mistakes at very high speed and Ricky is hardly been known as a counter puncher or someone who doesn't make a bucket full of mistakes himself

Basically half of what he said was 'Ricky is too big and hits too hard for Pacquaio and will be able to pick apart Pacquaios mistakes aswell as Marquez', well what if Pacquaio becomes as big and strong as Hatton at 140? What if Hatton isn't the counter puncher Marquez is? What if Hatton makes more mistakes and is punnished more than Pacquaio?

Good points but what you can't teach is a chin... and Manny has been stopped by much smaller guys with half of Hattons power. Hatton will land at some point and like Lee says... once Pacman tastes that pain he will either go down or think twice.

There is also the difference between today and 19forgottens...

Pac was taken down twice by a body shot btw. And Hatton is a body puncher....

    but there's a difference now.
