To be fair I used to enjoy some of those MTK shows and he’s got 3 British championship fights in the space of a month so the guys done really well. I’d much rather watch a fight for the Lonsdale belt than hear the depressing words WBO European or WBC international silver. Maybe I’m getting old and nostalgic but I’m always cheered up by the prospect of a British European or even a commonwealth title fight. There’s history there and that’s what any sport is about. If you’re Commonwealth welterweight champ, Honeyghan ( among others ) held that or British middleweight champ, Minter held that, undisputed champions. You can hype womens boxing up as much as you like but it doesn’t have that.
I completely agree with what you write. You are definitely not alone Couldn't we soon get rid of all those Mickey Mouse titles and championships in professional boxing ? I know the TV / streamingplatforms wants title fights, but it would be nice to have quality over quantity.
Thank you. It’s a shame these fights aren’t on channel 5. They are better than some of the fights Kalle Sauerland has had as main events.
