Martin Ward just finished picking apart and stopping Andy Townend in the 8th round.

 

Jonriel Casimero vs Charlie Edwards, IBF Flyweight Title, 12 rounds.

 

Round 1: Edwards circles and pumps the jab, while the champ stalks and immediately begins to wing hard right hands. A couple get through, shaking Edwards. The challenger circles and lands a quick hook but can't really land at all with the jab, while Casimero makes contact on a couple of occasions.

10-9 Casimero.

 

Round 2: Closer round, with Edwards willing to stand in the pocket a bit more and getting closer with the jab. No real clean contact from him and Casimero does get a couple of hard rights to shade the round.

20-18 Casimero

 

Round 3: Edwards continues to pump the jab, and occasionally fires the right behind it. But he still can't make significant contact with the champion, who continues to land counters on occasion. It's competitive, but Casimero's cleaner shots carries another round.

30-27 Casimero.

 

Round 4: Edwards continues to try to work the jab, but Casimero has his rhythm and lands a couple of hard right hands to the head and body, and then feints an overhand right before landing a wicked uppercut. Edwards staggers but doesn't fall. Edwards steadies himself and continues; a little later on they clash heads and Casimero is cut. Still, another big round for the champ.

40-36 Casimero.

 

Round 5: Casimero continues to stalk and lands the occasional meay counter right, but Edwards looks a bit more confortable this stanza and lands a nice right while keeping him at distance with the double jab. Very close, but this frame goes to the challenger based on ring control and that one right.

Edwards 10-9

49-46 Casimero

 

Round 6: Bookend round, with Edwards controlling range in the first minute with the jab. Casimero carries the second minute with some hard body shots, but Edwards carries the last minute with a couple of sharp rights. Edwards is starting to get into this fight on my card.
