I'm not nuthugging Gilmour here Dunky as the popular thought on the forum is that he's as tight as two coats of paint...............

But, I've seen the poster, it's £35 for a ticket. On the undercard are

    Kris Carslaw
    Gary McArthur
    Jamie McLevy
    David Savage
    Paul McElhinney
    Vinnie Baldassara

All decent boxers and, as usual with Sky, we'll probably see **** all of the undercard.

    £35 doesn't seem too steep

Thats a very tidy card for the coin.

Lets hope they get good matchups.

"At this point, Mcallister v Limond would be a mismatch if you ask me, the aberdonian is just starting to hit his peak, & Limond is winding down.[/quote]"

Not sure if Limond is winding down or just not getting the breaks. As someone said earlier, he'd probably be right up for this one and this might give him one last crack at the title he craves. KO percentages are about equal and this one would give Scottish fans something to look forward to.

Quite liked McAllister against Murray and wonder what he could do with trainer who told him to cut out the showboating and concentrate on his defensive boxing. Seems to have the package and I disagree totally with the notion that he is only a domestic fighter. All down to handling IMO. Also good for the ticket sales and seems to be one of the few boxers who can have coach loads following him; which has to be good for the sport!

And i assure you by no stretch of the imagination is limond on the way down.just give him the chance to prove it!

Apologies mate, I was actually trying to respond to an earlier quote and to agree that Willie Limond is in no way over the hill. I seem to have made a total ar** of cutting and pasting quotes. I agree totally that this would be a great fight for fans up here (would also hope Sky would take it if it helps what the fighters get £££ wise). The other point I was trying to make (badly) was that the wee man deserves his chance and has had a few unlucky breaks.

To give some balance to my post - which actually isn't really like me and especially when we're talking about a fellow Jags fan, I was acknowledging that McAllister is on the way up, has a good fan base and with some careful handling could have a good career. All of this was to reinforce my point that this would be a good match-up.

IMO who would win? The boy from the east end of Glasgow of course! Hope this clarifies things and apologies again for my earlier duff post.

I know this idea has been mentioned a few times, but I could actually see Limond fighting Arthur for the vacant title should this situation arise.
I know Willie wants a rematch with Arthur and the fact that Willie is managed by Morrison, who works closely with Warren would mean that fight is a lot easier to make if the Board approve it.

Dunno... given Arthur's "shock" defeat recently, would he risk such a dangerous match up? Seems like if he did and lost then his career would be at the crossroads. But how does this help eithere fighter - settling old scores in a match that is probably only of passing interest to some fight fans. Would this seriously help either fighter (thinking age and time of career).

But having said all that, I'd pay to go and see this one. :thumbsup Anyone else?

I was at the first and would definitely go to a rematch, although I don't know how good it would be in the end. If Arthur wants to make something of himself he needs a quick route into championship boxing soon as he has a very limited time left as it is.
