Hasn't fought for a year... here's a bit of an update on him:- LEE McALLISTER reckons he would be every bit as famous as Ricky Burns if he was scrapping in Glasgow - but that won't stop him chasing his dream to stage an open-air showdown at Pittodrie. The Aberdeen Assassin will make his comeback from an elbow injury when he faces Hungarian tough guy Istvan Nagy for the IBO inter-continental light-welterweight title at the Beach Ballroom on February 26. It's a high-profile return set up by manager Tommy Gilmour but the former world champion knows it won't attract the interest generated for WBO superfeatherweight king Burns. McAllister said: "I don't know why I don't get the praise I deserve. Maybe it's because I am stuck up in Aberdeen. "You don't get as much attention or publicity as some of the fighters from Glasgow or Edinburgh. "Ricky Burns' team are at the centre of everything in Glasgow so he's better placed to get the headlines and the top fights. "I trust Tommy to get me big fights and he has done great for me but when you are in Aberdeen nobody away from the north has heard about you. "I am Aberdeen's only professional boxer and I have to work hard to get noticed elsewhere." McAllister hopes to box in front of his passionate fans at the home of his beloved Aberdeen Football Club one day soon. He proudly wears the club's colours and has been known to dye his hair red and white on fight nights. The 28-year-old said: "Obviously I would love to fight in America one day but my big dream is to fight at Pittodrie. "I would love to do that because of what I think of the club. That would mean the world to me and my fans." From the NOTW http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/...ask-in-the-big-city-spotlight-86908-22898199/ so it looks like he's stepping up to light welter... how do you think he'll get on in the mix up there? Sorry if this is a repost or old news, I just heard about this now and I wondered what he was upto!
He can go **** himself, he doesn't get the credit and attention Burns gets because he is a real World Champion not a ****ing WBU Champion and unlike McAllister he is active fighting more then once a year. Go win a World Title Lee and then you will get some attention, until then **** off.
you count the wbo as a serious organization? a few years ago it wasnt any different from the mickey mouse title, btw i'm not trying to defend mccalister
WBO was never as bad as the WBU and you know it. Im not having a go at him anyway, I like to follow him, living in Aberdeen and all.

theres only 3 things that matter WBC,IBF And Ring (you could say WBA but they'v sold cheap) i dont recognise the wbo and i dont feel any1 should. over the years you could say world class fighters have held the title but you could say that for any toys r us belt out there,
The WBC was just a tool for Sulaiman and King to fill their pockets. There is no difference between any of the alphabets. After they let Pac Margo fight for the vacant WBC title...I pretty much take the WBCs rankings as a complete joke.
What rubbish McAllister talks. It took him about 30 fights to get to commenwealth level, hes a joke really. Typical Aberdonian attitude really, Jealous of the Champions .
