    Thanks for that. :good

After round 1 the Russian fella figured out there wasnt a live opponent behind the jab and that was that. For whatever reason Lee didn't look like he wanted to be in there, and had nothing to draw on when the going got tough. Was he there because he wanted to be, or because the crowd, promoters, etc, wanted him to be there?

Everyone finds a level where you get gut checked, and what you do next decides your career. In this case, so be it. :?

Nice to see a few familiar faces.

TBH Billy, I dont know whats going on with Lee at the moment, going through a lot of personal **** at this juncture in life so cant follow the boxing as closely, just a quick check & a post here and there on ESB every other day to keep me updated:D

To see Lee hanging out of the ropes making excuses while Peter Harrison looked around with a look of pissedoffness at being blatatly ignored, one of the worst things I have witnessed as a scottish boxing fan. Not in a bad way, more in a sad way.

Makes me appreciate Ricky Burns even more now if thats possible, as the McAllister capitulation was what everyone envisioned Rocky Martinez & Michael Katsidis would do to the Rickster! Ricky & yourself are keeping scottish boxing alive Mr N, make sure it continues:good

cheer Mr RJJ, I never saw the Ringside you mention but having watched Lee for some years now and hoping his skills could back up his entertaining mouth? I still hold out hope he can, hopefully Gilmour & Maloneys slatings have a positive effect on the lad, cos I still believe the lad can fight!

Hes drinking in last chance saloon now though, its going to be a long road back. Boxing is cruel, no-one hates quitters quite like us:yep

I like the feller but he does seem a bit daft & i don't think he's really that interested or determined too find out what he's really all about in the boxing sense, but maybe he has:think??? As the old saying goes, "When the going gets tough the tough get going":smoke

To be fair,The boxrec reportb earlier confirms that he did have an injury on his hands, now the ending was dissapointing but if hes injured and cant go on then fair enough, would you expect him to fight on and damage himself even more? Again.it was a dissapointing ending, but its someones career your talking about

i for one would expect him to carry on no matter how bad his hand was, boxing isnt like any other sport, you get hurt and you get on with it, thats what we signed up for, if you dont want to get hurt or break bones dont fight simple as that, its for the european title you have to be willing to go to hell and back if needs be, it wasnt like when cotto was getting a pasting from margacheato i can fully understand that the man had **** all left to give, lee mac thought he had a bad hand so got the **** out of there the first chance he got, it stunk if you ask me, and if anybody comes back and says his hand injury is career threatening, i dony give a monkeys go through it and deal with it after the fight

what happened on saturday was probably worse for lees career than taking a beating and losing. it will be years before he even gets another decent fight to prove his worth, promoters will surely think hes a liability

People come back from worse, but I think he will know himself that he just peaked in terms of opportunity and popularity and will walk away. He didnt look happy to be there in the first place.

i personalyl cant see him getting another title shot like this ,unless hes offerd a fight by a promotor whop sees him as a a gamble for a voluntry defence . In the meantimes a few defences of the commonwealth could be in order

Its was fairly clear he wanted none of it, it was a complete waste of time he didnt look any good anyway, he looked as flat as a pancake and thats a compliment, infact had he carried on he could have been flattened by a pancake.

I think he was more interested in getting a job with Sky Sports!
