He was with a local organisation called the Essex Iba. Tom Glover was also one of their fighters. They hold shows reguarly at Liquid&Envy in Colchester and The Circus Tavern.

I saw summet on tv once with Danny Dyer and that Dominic Negus who fought Audley Harrison. I'm pretty sure Dominic Negus has something to do with the IBA.

Theres also the ebf, semi pro stuff- relaxed rules, plus u get paid unlike amatuer. Most lads i know skipped amatuer cause they didnt want to fight for nothing, i think more will do that in the future

"Semi Pro" is what they call it which is crazy because it's way below any decent amateur standard.

Unlicensed has been around years. It isn't growing or shrinking. Call it semi-pro, amateur or whatever you want. It's just an unregulated form of boxing. The highest level your likely to find is tough veteran pro's with half and half records who are at area title standard. The worst are just abysmal kids who've done boxing half a dozen times and jump in the ring.

to be fair amateur experience don't mean zilc unless you are at the very top of the game,
    ie olympics,world championships,
there are a hell of a lot of good pros with not many am fights who get to british level and ab

    That's not true at all.

50 amateur fights at regional and national level, with maybe a few internationals a long the way will do a fighter a world of good. In fact, the further they get towards the olympics/world championship the more their style is likely to change to a computer storing style.

TBH in some ways it's a good thing to go down unlicensed route, Rid the headwear and vest and fight in a more pro manner but look at that WSO boxing that someone posted the other month. Utterly embarrassing stuff, I'd actually fancy myself to win a title in that without training properly.

Ooooohhhhhhhh yes it is true :smooch

there are a ****ing lot of boxers out there suited to the am game and would be a bag of **** in the pro game.
And how many of the ex british/euro/world champs have been to the olympics/world championships or even ABA champs over the past 20 years :think
And whats the computer scoring system got to do with the pro game, its possibly the worse kind of scoring to have to adapt you to the pro game:patsch
