I went over the boxrec and it appears they found a source that established him as 6'3. defintley changes perspective on things doesnt it? makes him more dangerous h2h. Murray at 6'3 210lb is a good sized heavyweight in any era.

A very Overlooked fighter, Murray was actually the recognized Duration Heavyweight Champion during world war II by Maryland and Ohio commissions, so it wanst just jimmy bivins who held the recognition. I will try to post a bunch of newspaper reports and make a strong case for him being ranked highly the way marcianofrasier did with elmer ray. The ones I do have of him, to put it blunt the papers very VERY high on murray as a fighter, as as a opponent to end louis reign.

Take a look at his win resume very impressive. he beat top fighters out all sizes and styles. Murray was rated in the top 5 throughout the 1940s.

    He beat

Jimmy Bivins 2x- really 3x, one of the accounts describes bivins win as a big time robbery, i think the 2nd fight.
    Harry Bobo
    Turkey Thompson
    Hatchetman Sheppard 4x
    Perk Daniels
Clayton Worlds- 6'6 200lb very tall skillful boxer according to my IBRO journal
Lou Brooks- good fighter, IBRO has whole article on him, lou had terrific skills that were poorly managed.
    Buddy Walker 3x
    Al Hart

all these men were at or right around top 10 at the time, and most of these guys were very dangerous fighters.

A travesty murray never got to fight charles, louis or ray. I think Murray would have done real well. He did get to fight walcott, and lost.

anyway, can someone confirm if lee q is 6'3 or not?
