    5′ 5½″ Boxrec stat.

Edit: I don't believe that for a second, I'm around 5'8 and he looks around my height, there's no way Simpson's taller then him..

World level I think .He's only had 2 12 round championship fights and knocked 2 out .Hope he doesn't hold back and moves on fast and stays active against decent level opposition

Last two results have been ridiculously impressive on paper. I like his Carlos Maussa, cocksure, swinging for the fences style and I'm sure he can progress beyond domestic level with success. Whether he's good enough to one day call himself 'world class', who knows? We'll have to wait and see. He's very exciting though.

    Good post

  12. I think it'll always be hard for a fighter from Britain at featherweight and below to become genuinely world class without moving to the States or to Asia - which is even rarer.

There just aren't enough quality opponents to bring about the necessary improvements in them I feel.

I think just looking at basic probability it's rare for a featherweight from Britain to be world class, how many people have the kind of frame that they can fight at Featherweight? Looking at the average size of population of Japan for example then you can see why a huge number of fighters can operate around featherweight.

Its an interesting point in terms of development. Its clear that there is a massive gulf in class between Euro/domestic and then on to world level. The problem comes as the gulf in class between World level and domestic needs to be bridged with probably 4-5 decent fights against fighters that just dont operate in Europe.

Munroe was lucky that he had Martinez,Maludrottu in fairly close proximity and then had the Terrezas fight and still couldnt cut it at world level. The Terrezas fights are the type needed if Selby were to push on and they are both expensive and risky.

Best way is to get him on some Vegas undercards Ala Brook and Crolla in Vegas against some tough Mexicans.
