Hated him when I first saw him VS Smith / Martin Lindsay etc but he quickly grew on me and always came across well when he wasn't swaggering around the ring haha. Probably for the best he calls time now, had a great career and wouldn't want to see him become cannon fodder.
Give him a couple of years out and eddie hearns will be on the phone, with that little runt connor BENNE mouthing off in the background...
Good choice by Selby. If he's being honest that he's healthy, financially secure, etc then there's no need to keep going now - get out at 35 and do something else.
Correct decision. He had a good career and won a world title but his last performance showed it was over for him. Will always remember his KO of Stephen Smith, what a ****ing shot
Had a very good career, had good pop In shots at FW until he became weight drained in the latter years at the weight. Glad to see him retire, smart decision. Wish him all the best.
On companies house his LTD company and his real estate company look in good shape. i think he should be setup quite nicely with income into into his retirement. i don't think he boozes either, so hopefully doesnt burn money quickly.
Good fighter. It was a shame him vs Frampton never happened, would have been a good matchup (but likely boring to watch) although it was fascinating how Josh Warrington stopped that by beating them both. He’s had a good career but likely wasted a bit waiting down at Featherweight for the Frampton fight, moved up a little late and had lost that sharpness that made him truly top dollar as champion. Best wishes and hopefully he’s made some good money.
Fantastic fighter, a match for any fighter of any era. Definitely up there with our best domestic fighters. Hope he has a happy and healthy retirement, he deserves it.
Was never a fan of his but I always respected him as a fighter. Came through the hard way and the lad could definitely fight. Good luck to him in his future he will go down as a British legend.
