    British and Commonwealth
    featherweight champion Lee
Selby is planning a trip to the
    United States in the coming
    weeks, before returning home
to defend his titles on home
    soil next month.

    The 25 year-old, who has
    stopped former Lonsdale belt
    holders Stephen Smith and John
Simpson in his last two bouts, is
    looking to prepare himself to
face some of the top fighters in
the world with trips to the
    Mayweather and Wildcard Gym’s
    according to manager Chris
    Sanigar.

"I am taking Lee to California.
    We’ve spoken with Roger
Mayweather and it is just about
    getting the timing right," Sanigar
    told campaignseries.co.uk.

"We might also go to the
Wildcard Gym if we have time.
Lee is a world champion of the
future and it’ll be a good
    experience for him."

    Selby is headlining Newport
Leisure Centre on May 25th in
his second defence of both titles.
The Barry fighter has been linked
    to a rematch with Smith,
although it seems unlikely that a
    return will happen in the
    immediate future.

Love to hear things like this. This is what you have to do. If you wanna become a better fighter then you have to go through things like this.

Its like Scott Quigg using about £4000 of his own money on a couple of trips to Wilcard gym.

You have to make the sacrifices but they will make you a better boxer.

Selby is a good fighter and i think if he works hard he could become something special. Looking forward to seeing him in action again.

Selby definitely has all the tools. The first time I saw him was in the smith fight and I remember just being awed at the way he was throwing punches. Perfect technique and he really gets a lot of power into his shots. He can stand and bang but he can also box and move. Very good prospect and getting top notch training is really really encouraging. I'm firmly on the Selby bandwagon. Smith would get absolutely MULLERED in a rematch
