Selby is jabbing at Montiel, skittering in sidelong with his lead toe penetrating Montiel's stance. Selby is tripling quick jabs as he closes in with a gallop while turned askance. Montiel tries a big left hook and Selby is forced to raise his gloves quickly to block, and forced back a step. Selby is jabbing his way in and out. Right hand counter timed well by Montiel, following up with hooks as Selby leaps out. 1-2 into the guard and nice pair of body shots from Selby while stepping out.

Montiel lets Selby jab him into the ropes and whips out a couple of check hooks while angling his back off the ropes, buzzing & turning Selby with them. Selby is flicking in fast jabs in multiples and Montiel is standing pat and picking them off with his palms working like the paddles of a pinball machine. Selby is doubling his jab into the guard and stepping in with a long right cross, hoping to score without having to enter Montiel's countering zone. Montiel is taking adequately spaced reverse steps to make Selby only graze with his straight combination attacks, but is leaned back too far to capitalize with any counters (and isn't throwing much, besides)
