This thread made me smile. Selby on points for my money. Selby has real sting in his shots, much more than you'd ever know if you didn't follow his career. His speed and timing were excellent and he should be able to pick off De Leon. That being said his methodical pressure is enough to unsettle Selby and pound out a decision. In fact actually, if I look at the Broner fight and the Warrington fight, everything points to De Leon. I'd make Selby the pre fight favourite, but take Ponce to pull the upset.
Yeah, that feels right actually. Selby had a reputation for slickness during his prime years which I always felt was a little undeserved and I think that De Leon might indeed shut him down down the straight for the victory.
He looked slick when going shot for shot, but he looked very far from slick against the volume of Warrington
I'm not familiar with Selby, but I thought for a long time that DeLeon was one of the worst fighters ever to be a "world" champion
There will always be guys who's main quality is workrate, tenacity, aggression, power, stamina. People just like to pretend it was limited to the 1900s at a world level.
