And right there is another reason why Macklin beats Lee!
Matt has the ability to vary his approach to suit the occasion.

You do know that Mack deliberately changed his approach to throw Sergio off - and it worked a treat for about 9 rounds of their fight?

He used a third approach against GGG and it worked "slightly" less well obviously!! :!:

But against against a stiff upright guy like Lee you can be sure Macklin will revert to his tried and tested approach of relentless pressure. He averaged over 90 punches per round against Sturm (thats according to compubox- in reality it was probably over 100) - phenomenal for a middleweight.

But Sturm stands still and puts up a shell defense. You can throw a lot against that style.

If Lee boxes like he did in the first few rounds of the Chavez Jr fight he will beat Macklin.

Hey, I could be wrong. I hope Macklin brings it because we will see a good fight if he does.

I'm a huge Lee fan, and will be there rooting for him if this gets made, but I think his style suits Macklin too well. Macklin even said as much during The Gloves Are Off.

Macklin is a scrapper with Lee having more technicque than Macklin and i see a ko in favour of Lee as Macklin will tire late on,as long as Andy doesn't go toe to toe for the first 6 rounds he wins.

Relying on Macklin tiring for Lee to win is clutching at straws a bit IMO. Macklin has tired in the past because the fights were absolute wars and/or against really top class opposition.

Mack won't have to work this hard against Andy because Andy is just not as good as a Sturm or a Sergio. Also Mack has probably learned his lesson by now about pacing himself. If anything I feel Andy will tire and fade late in this one.

Andy is the one stepping up here. He has never had to perform at the level of a Sergio or a Sturm and keep it going for the full fight. Remember how quickly and disastrously he faded against Chavez after just a few rounds? And against affif belghecham he faded badly towards the end too. It's one thing to fade late against the top class operators Macklin has faced, but if you can't maintain a strong pace against belghecham or mcKewn then you have a problem there.
