Hey man, Vera may be a scrub but he fought like a gladiator tonight and deserves credit. Not his fault the ref stopped it early.

Lee stands up too straight, but can definitely crack. Vera ate a lot of hard shots and showed the balls to stay in.

Lee was beginning to fade in this fight though...I dunno who else was shouting "Put your god damn hands up!" in that last round...he's not John Duddy, not everyone possesses that skill of blocking punches with your head.

Can anyone name another fight that was stopped after a fighter had just landed a big bomb like that?

    Lee's downfall....

Expected to stop Vera with one punch.

Does good work with his right hand but is WIDE open after he throws it.

    No upper body movement.

    No body work.

    Needs to throw more combo's.

    Sucks for Lee.

Lee looked like he was going down anyway. Ref stopped it early, but it looked like it was just a matter of time before Vera put him down. Vera looked full of energy, and Lee's punches had nothing left in them.

Refs are greatly influenced by stumbling....Rafa-Vasquez 2 was stopped after Rafa fell backwards, Macca-Haye was really stopped after Macca got up and stumbled around drunkenly. Stumbling shows a lack of balance, legs and most importantly vision...which gives refs the impression that the fighter is cooked.

Lee doesn't stumble around before that shot and ref doesn't call it.

    I love these upsets !!!!

Lee would have been stopped anyway in this fight, he was finished.
Vera went to the body when he could and Lee was finished, every other right from Vera was landing, it was just a matter of time

Throw in unbelievably slow feet and very average handspeed, and we've about wrapped it up. I'm not writing anyone off after one fight, but the guy has a lot to work on.

Vera probably would have got the stoppage anyway, but stopping the fight after Lee landed a punch sucked.

horrible stoppage but I think Lee would have been down by the end of the round, not saying the fight should have been stopped but it was a good scrap. Steward for being such a world class trainer and preaching about Lee and other fighters shows he doesn't know how to teach them to tie up when they are hurt plus, Lee has a whole bunch of flaws to take care of before moving on from B-level fighters like Vera who he should have mopped the floor with. Great fight, Lee still is a good prospect but needs a lot more development.

Steward needs to put Lee in with a few cans to get his confidence back.

Sorry, but "looked like it was just a matter of time" means absolutely nothing.

If a fighter is fighting back and landing hard punches, no way the fight should be stopped.

The way that fight was going, nothing was a given. Lee was ripping straight lefts and could have definitely come back to knock out Vera.
