I've seen posts claiming he out worked Jermain. But, those were just internet board posts. So, take it as you will.

Quick google: http://www.hbo.com/boxing/events/2006/0617_taylor_wright/columns/fighterstory_gottlieb.html

When champion Taylor and super prospect Lee first stepped in the ring, all activity stopped. Taylor figured the guys wanted to watch a champ in action. But from the first punishing blow Lee hit Taylor with, the champ knew this wasn't just a mere sparring session. Lee wanted his belt.

They went at it fast and furious, with Taylor getting as much as he gave. "It was nip and tuck," Steward said. When it was over, Taylor came over to Steward excited and enthusiastic: "Man, I'm not used to that," he said. Some champions, Steward knew, didn't like to be hit hard in sparring sessions. The mean side of Taylor, Steward sensed, got off on it.

As a matter of fact, Steward said he expected Pavlik to keep it competetive for 1 or 2 rounds! If you want to get a real kick go over to You Tube and watch Steward talk about round 3 of the first fight:yep

There was a character that posted on the front page, Strawberry, every frigging post was Jermain Taylor should drop Immanual Steward. Got tiring, but I'm starting to think she may have known something. I posted during the fight I could see some 'taylorisms' in Lee. Maybe it is 'stewardism's'?

Lee could become a middleweight champion, but it will take 3 or 4 years and vast improvements.

 What a ridiculous post it was!

Abraham an unknow quantity? He would have murdered yesterday's version of Any Lee.
Sturm isnt much to worry about? For whom? He would have given hell to Lee ,too.
Pavlik? Would have been a massacre, dont you think so?

Lee is a good boxer, and still needs more time and he still has to learn one or two things.

Funny that Lee has been hyped here on esb that much because he is Irish.
Golovkin who schooled him at the amateurs, who won silver at the olympic game, and who kicked Andre Dirrel out of the olympics, and who has turned pro as Lee did after the olympic game has not been praised by a lot of posters here.
At the amateurs Golvokin played in another dimension than Lee.In the pros as well?

Don't worry about oddball[Odo], he feels inferior because he isn't Irish.

:DIt is,greengloves!

Anyway! Lee is still a promising boxer IMO.He needs more time.
I like him,but I have been fed up with the endless threads here on esb hyping him as the next big thing.
Abraham,Sturm, and Pavlik have a proven track record with some very good skalps.
To compare Lee with these proven top fighters was a little bit silly, greengloves.
You know , I for my part am sold on Golovkin. As Lee he hasnt proved anything at the pros yet apart from being able to stop teak tough journeymen. However, his amateur credentials are great.Thats why I believe that he will be a future top dog.
At present he would probably lose big time againt Pavlik,Sturm, and Abraham.
As for Lee he will come back and he for sure has the tools to make some noise at middle weight. He just still needs more time.
