So I follow him on twitter, seen his videos and he seems to know his stuff. But on twitter, he points out the most obvious of points to make it seem like he knows what he’s talking about 100% of the time, & if you dare to disagree with him, he goes on an all out attack. So my question is, if I’m looking to learn more in-depth about the sport, should I look to his videos and page, or is he just suffering from the Dunning-Kruger effect?
His videos are brilliant. You can definitely learn a lot watching them; youd be surprised just how much depth there is to boxing. He does an excellent job breaking down fights and the strategies boxers use while they're in the ring. As for how he is while interacting with people ive only spoken to him once in a comment section years ago. We disagreed on the issue of footwork and toward the end of the debate he acknowledged the points i raised had some merit even though he didnt completely agree. But as I've said ive only had one brief interaction with him. If he's actually more of a jerk, who cares? Take the good info he provides and leave it at that. Always keep your mind open and try things out for yourself to see what's effective.
On the British twitter scene there are a few sad psychos who think they are the ‘be all and end all’ of boxing. One is Chris Mason the former darts player. Thinks he knows everything about boxing and anyone who disagrees is wrong. Also claims he was an amateur and still gives younger kids spars but I can’t find anything online to evidence these claims.
Mason is a bellend lol. Was when he played darts. Can't think the level of bellendary he's reached talking baxxing....
It’s unreal mate, worst thing is he always tags in one of his boxing pals like Enzo Mac or John Rawling for validation. Tbf he’s actually a decent darts commentator but clearly is trying to get some sort of boxing media gig.
Does this Lee Wylie guy box himself? I’m not one of these guys who dismisses those who don’t at least train in boxing but if he is selling himself as an analyst he should have some sort of boxing experience.
