Man i I miss this site 2 threads today(first in probably a year) and I'm the idiot and everyone else is the expert. I guarantee you JJL stops Penalosa this sat then we'll see who the idiot is
I don't think the argument is wether or not Lopez will stop Pen or not. (Most will prob agree with you on that) It's the Southpaw's always ending fight's in K.O. theory that got most twisted.
Most people are picking JuanMa to stop Penalosa. You make a thread and ask why it is most southpaw v other southpaw fights end in KO's. People gave you examples where they don't. Then you ask why it is most southpaws that can bang v other southpaw's that can bang end in KO's. And people have told you that because a fight with 2 guys that punch hard usually ends in a knockout.
Yeah, that will probably be the case. It doesn't make your argument, that they have no clue how to fight each other and lack the defence, any more valid. It is because JuanMa is possibly the hardest hitter P4P and Penlosa is an ageing battlehorse who is here to give him rounds, not to end his undefeated record. Sonny Liston vs Michael Moorer would end in a K.O, but not because both guys are clueless and have no idea how to defend. As I say, lefty vs lefty is well-known amongst fans for causing some awful borefests, and the reason Kelley-Hamed and Ponce De Leon vs. JuanMa are so notorious are because these K.O's are rae when southpaws fight each other. You've literally picked up on one of the most well-known things in boxing; lefty vs lefty more often than not equals a boring fight; and tried to twist it, and then claim you're not an idiot! As I say, this kind of logic will make it easy for you to settle down here, as Tommy V will tell ya:good he like me comes on here to deal with guys like you who make statements as ridiculous as 'I've seen close to 1000+ fights'
i just dont really get what fights he saw to lead to believe this, southapws are normally boxers or counterpunchers even, as opposed to brawlers/bangers, cuzz once a trainer gets his hands on a southpaw he focuses on refining his technicque, jab, outboxing, etc. since a "slick southpaw" is pretty much a nightmare for any fighter, and if he's just a banger that kind of takes away his natural advantage of not the opponent being able to time there jab and throw off there rhythm but all in all, anything worth being said has been summed up, it all depends on the fighter, you have guys like Pac, Valero, and Darchinyan, that are always in exciting fights, but thats not becuzz they're southpaws, just becuzz they can ****in punch, but the majority of the southpaws in the game are outboxers, your Winkys, Dawsons, Judahs, Hasegawas, Bute's, Mijares's, Martinez's, Spinks's etc. etc. etc......... so all in all, i get what he was trying to say (basing his theory off of of Juanma fights, that might work) but it just seems like he aint seen too many fights, or somehow just skipped over the "typical southpaw sleepers", but regardless, the thread put a smirk on my face, so props to him for that but uhhh, @ quackman..watch Judah-Corley that pretty much sums up the "typical southpaw sleeper", but to be honest i liked it, 2 counterpunchers are normally boring to most people, but i find them interesting
