Despite what $ claims about Pac needing him more than he needs Pac and being secure with his legacy and this and that, doesn't a close look at their careers/resumes reveal that Pac has taken on far more prime legit challenges than floyd.

Especially when you add in the fact that Floyd always comes up with another unreasonable demand to put the fight off when it looks like it actually might happen.

(i.e. olympic style testing above commission requirements which Pac agrees to; and then no to a 50/50 w a ridiculous 40 million flat fee to Pac, claiming that's the most he would ever make, when in reality they both would be set to receive by far their largest ever pay days because of each other, Floyd included)

In addition to Floyd ducking a prime and peaking Cotto, Fighting an older de la hoya and Mosley, coming in overweight for a small and coming up in weight for the first time Marquez, and cheap shotting Ortiz and Gatti. And the possibility he's waiting for Pac to slip a little more before finally taking him on.

And that's not a total knock on Floyd, He's taken on some tough challenges including the ones mentioned above and looked amazing in the process.

Doesn't it appear that history will look more favorably on the way Pac has conducted himself in the sport, his overall actions and accomplishments, rather than Floyd?

The funny thing is I really believe if they fought that May would make easy work of Pac, completely secure his legacy and quiet his boxing critics all at once. If he had just shut up and done it two years ago while Pac was peaking it would have meant even more to his legacy than it probably will now. I mean **** Bradley might win in a month and spoil the whole damn apple cart anyway.

So legacy wise, does Pac need Floyd more or does Floyd need Pac more as far as the historical court of public opinion is concerned? Vote and Discuss...

History won't look favorably on PAC, in regards to the drug testing issue. Concerning resume and revelancy, the latter part of his career will make up for the earlier portion.

The only problem with that is, most of his recent fights have some sort of stipulation attached, which the diehard fight fan will frown upon.

Isn't the Olympic drug testing issue a little overblown, I mean didnt he agree to it despite the fact that the boxing commission doesn't even require it?

the fact is this, pacquiao hasn't looked good at all in his last two fights, and especially terrible against juan manuel marquez, and floyd looked dominant against those very same opponents. In terms of legacy, pacquiao definitely needs a win against floyd more than the inverse.

nope think of it this way. if Floyd beats manny people will not look at it the same way if pac beat him. Pac would get pushed up in the rankings a lot, but mayweather on the other hand wouldnt. A victory for pac against mayweather means a lot more. Pac has never fought a guy with the type of skills that mayweather has. Marquez is as close as you can get and Floyd is very different and much more talented.

Floyd needs it more than Pac does.

The fights that Floyd didn't want a piece of back then (Cotto/Margarito), Pac took, and he demolished them.

Since he turned Welter, History won't be so kind to Floyd.

There always seem's to be an excuse with him.

Floyd has had a great career , but will always be missing something.

Manny has fought JMM , Barrera and Morales .

    Spot on!

Other than Corrales, what IS Floyd's defining fight?

    Oscar? Hatton?

4 or 5 years ago nobody was calling for this fight...Floyd Mayweather was already a superstar in the game...even after facing Barerra, Morales, and Marquez the world didn't really know who Pac was after Delahoya like 2 years after Floyd had beaten him and after Floyd beat Hatton...Manny Pac in his boxing fame is 4 or 5 years behind Floyd...Mayweather holds the all-time high ppv and Manny doesn't so in this era Manny is not more important than Floyd in the boxing world that's why Floyd doesn't need him and if they do fight Floyd is going to whoop his ass...May 5th was suppose to be Manny's chance to get his ass whooped and he didn't want it because he don't want it! Floyd has bitched Manny in the media and on the phone and Manny don't want it stop trying to put that pressure on Pac he's scared which makes an even stronger argument for Floyd not needing Manny. Shane interupted Floyd's post fight interview and got his ass whooped Manny would never so he's been called out and he's suing without substantial evidence because he has to take a test to prove Floyd is lying yeah he's a ***** and I'd give the 42 others credit for doing them and fighting Floyd because Manny don't want it!

a lot of "stipulations" with floyd fights or lack thereof's as well, we have to agree when your the money guy you get to call those kind of shots.

Floyd always looks more polished but he has never looked as invincible as Manny looked against Cotto. A guy he blatantly ducked in his prime.
