Now out comes Pat Barry, making his return to kickboxing.

16-6. (MMA record 8-7, 7 KO)

 

Dennis at 6'3" has 4" on Barry.

 

Barry looking his age here. Spamming lazy right jabs and big sloppy left high kicks, getting countered, grabbed, and tossed. Dennis is just sharper and stronger (as well as younger and longer with quicker hands)

 

Big right knees on the face by Dennis (cupping the back of Barry's head in his clasped hands). Barry covering up against the ropes. Dennis wailing on him with punches.

Dominant R1 by DD.

 

Major fault in Dennis' work so far is smothering himself, falling in and giving up that height. If he stood back and teed off at range he could've maybe had Barry out already.

 

Barry down early in R2. Dennis is lighting him up with straight flying Superman right hands on the eye socket, and big right knees in the chest. Right leg sweep by Barry, Dennis down to a knee awkwardly. Counter right by Dennis as Barry is winding up a sloppy high kick. Jabs and overhand lefts from Barry from too far away. Dennis tosses a combo past his shoulders and slams into him against the ropes. They grapple, break called. Barry stalks, waving his right, feinting the jab. He actually throws one, getting countered with a series of straight head shots, rocked into the ropes.

2 zip Dennis.

 

Pat Miletich has it 19-19. He gave Barry the 2nd.

 

Barry is rolling the right jab upward and following with climbing lefts, thrown with his thumb facing in and palm to Dennis. Mid kicks by Dennis. Barry answers in kind. Both landing on the hips and stomach with short, sharp kicks. Long 1-2 by Dennis, controlling Barry at range now. Barry walks onto a jab. Barry switches to orthodox. Lazy left up-jab by Barry. Counter right by Dennis. Barry stumbles back, stunned. Weak right jab put up by Barry, before spinning into a back-kick. Dennis easily dodges. 1-2 on the face by Dennis. Stiff-arm on the face by Dennis pushing Barry into a corner. Break called. Dennis fakes a jab, moving to his left, on his bike now. Barry reaches up with a desperate overhand left and snaps Dennis' head back. Right hook by Barry moving in, wrapping around the base of Dennis' neck. Barry is pushed back by a right hand.

Clean sweep for me. The old man was game but just physically doesn't have it.

 

The commentators are talking like Barry might get the nod, saying it would be a big win for him. (I just took my headphones off, was listening to my iPod the whole time, so wasn't hearing their commentary...)

 

The play by play commentator agreed with Miletich having it tied after two and thought Barry won the last one...
