Yeah. I don't think Dennis is all that big a striker, or much of a talent in general, even though he deserved the nod here.

He should have gotten rid of the chubby, uncoordinated Barry tonight if he was all that useful.

Regian Eersel vs. Cosmo Alexandre, 3 rounds @ welterweight

(this is actually the main event, although Barry was the "name" of the promotion)

 

Alexandre has a decent record, 44-16, lost a decision to Petrosyan, only ever kayoed by Yod.

 

Brutal left hook & left knee combos by Alexandre. Might need to be careful not to blow his wad. Eersel composed, waiting on the outside, coiled like a cobra. Clinch and throw by Eersel. Crotch kick by Alexandre. Shin kick by Eersel. Double jab by Alexandre. Right hand lead, left knee in the gut by Eersel. Big right hand by Alexandre. Quick right uppercut by Eersel countering a jab. Alexandre catches a right kick in the crook of his left elbow and spins Eersel around by the leg.

Good 2-way action.

 

This is much higher quality stuff than what the heavyweights gave us.

Left kicks on the right inner-thigh by Alexandre. Eersel welting up. Ouch. Alexandre is jabbing his way in, jerking back with a tight guard, buoyantly wavering in and out throwing jabs and slipping the real punches or feints off the jab-parry of Eersel. Alexandre manhandles Eersel to the canvas by the ropes. Front-kick on the stomach by Eersel, walking Alexandre to the opposite ropes. Eersel steps back and shrugs as Alexandre hangs back lying in wait. Eersel is saying "I'm not stupid, come out to center ring. If you want me to walk onto a counter, don't hold your breath". Alexandre comes out and tackles Eersel to the canvas while pumping in a combo.

2-0 Cosmo.

 

Miletich gave the 2nd to Eersel, has it 19-19.

 

Alexandre is slamming right hands down the pipe, bouncing off Eersel's chest and knocking him back into a reverse leap. Eersel kicks while in midair, and immediately again upon touchdown. Alexandre is whipping left hooks into Eersel's guard to set up the right hand. Low blow, time out. Resumed. Flying right knee by Eersel! Alexandre pins it, but not fully in time, partially caught. Uppercuts and 1-2s by Eersel on the inside. Sweeping low kick by Alexandre, grazing the ankles as Eersel scoots back. Alexandre misses a right hand as Eersel misses a front-kick, passing each other like dueling ninjas. Alexandre is repelled with a shoulder turn as he comes in with a right hand, kicked low and hit with a straight punch combo.

Eersel round.

Alexandre complains to Miletich that remembering the rules of kickboxing is hard, as he is used to Muay Thai and keeps forgetting that sweeps are illegal. :yep
