there was a member on here a few years back when we had the Lounge

think his name was HTH or something, his profile pic was lenny and he reckoned he was some hard nut from the east end and called quite a few members out on here, he would post pics of himself out and about giving people knee tremblers on the cobbles.

then he posted a thread about a tip he'd had from a mate about a horse, gave everyone on the forum the tip and it came in! quite few members placed bets aswell

 

I watched a documentary on Sykes the other night. Hard man alright, but what a loon !

There was a poster called HTH who acted alot like the Guvnor but we all knew he was as fake as the Guvnor's boxing abilities.

The guvnor was an ugly bald bloke who used to one punch men in bars, and used to fight completely unlicensed in boxing "matches". I saw him in 2 of his best known fights knocked spark out.

He had zero skill. the end.

 

I don't get the myth of these guys defeating guys like bruno "on the cobbles". even bruno said lenny would destroy him when the truth is I don't see him being able to even take a clean jab from frank.

imagine the **** coming at you though. Fair enough the rings a different game, but he looked like a powerhouse in that clip Mclean, like 20 stone plus !

 

People like to belittle him and he was an out an out bully. But let's have it right if he offered anyone out we'd all **** our panties. 20 stone enforcer in and out of jail with a screw loose.. Yea he' not a boxer but he' a mean ****

I keep wanting to use this line but so rarely get the opportunity.

 

Personally I wouldn't have liked to fight him or been on the receiving end of his rage in a street fight.

I will say though when you look back on those old grainy videos the technique was rather ropey.

 

That's exactly how my wife fights.. she's a vicious little thing.

well I say "fights" what I mean is beats me when I crawl in at 5am smashed out my nut covered in stripper glitter.

 

Sykesy had a lot of boxing expeeience from the ams.
Lenny and roy are street fighters.
Sykesy had the potential to be a world champ imo but his lifestyle and early years in prison, f*cked him up. He was thrown into a british title at 8 fights, which was pretty unheard of in those days and lost to john gardener. By then tho his team new they were on borrowed time as he just couldnt stay away from the drink and they gambled him early.
Paul Sykes ended up a homeless alcholic what we call a 'tramp' on the streets of wakefield. A shell of his former self. Fate is not without a sense of irony in pauls case. On the cover of his book 'sweet agony' theres a picture of wakefield cathedral and thats where he finished his days. Drinking cheap alchol in front of the cathedral on the bench and homeless.

 

Got to wonder what Bradshaw was thinking sticking the head on him...you wouldn't,t really want to get him angry.

Anyone can look hard against guys a lot smaller than them tbf. Almost all these fights hes in are against guys that dont really look up to much in comparison. Like most of these bullies...they always seem super up for it when there's little chance of losing. No time for the guy...came across like a massive attention seeker/bully.
