    Top of the hour.

(doors at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood FL open at 5pm EST, with event kicking off at 6pm EST. PPV airs on Fite.tv and Triller from 7pm EST)

    The ostensible main event,

    is now said to be
an exhibition. 58 year old Holyfield got cold feet and changed his mind last-minute (yesterday morning) about it being a sanctioned pro bout that would count on his record. Some are reporting that Holyfield is being given carte blanche to make a 'game time decision' as late as just before ringwalks in his dressing room - but for all intents & purposes we can assume that one is an exhibition.

I do hope this stays an exhibtion rather than a full blown pro fight. Will the Haye fight also be an exhbition?

Yes, that one never was in question AFAIK. Haye didn't get license from the FSAC; it was decided weeks ago that it'd for sure be an exhibition. It has only been in the last couple of days that it popped up on BoxRec (then off again) with people on Twitter claiming it had been changed to a sanctioned pro bout, although I can't find reliable official sources corroborating that.

The thing with pro / exo is a bit different tho.

The only thing that will change is that the bout won't be on Holyfields boxrec record.

It will be a fight under pro rules with a clear cut winner.

No exo. Just not on Holyfields boxrec.

    Ryan Kavanaugh confirmed that.

Are you sure about that detail in particular being confirmed, though? Been a lot of confusion and cross-chatter so that might have been something that got mixed up along the way. Exhibitions by definition have no winners or losers - so either it counts on their official records or, as long as both reach the final bell, there ought to be no 'verdict' regardless of whether anyone got their ass kicked/schooled. (just like Mayweather vs. Logan Paul)

I know it otherwise is going to be normal rules, number+length of rounds, etc. That was just in case Holyfield decides at the final moment to have it count on his pro record they don't have to change anything.

Yeah, Kavanaugh said if Holyfield doesn't want this to go on his boxrec due to his age, they'll allow him to make the decision for that but they will still follow all the other rules and no matter what, the fight will be scored as a pro fight, there will be a winner and it will be held under pro rules.

Whoever allowed Holyfield to fight should be ashamed. And don't give me that "Holyfield should be allowed to fight if he wants to, he's a grown man" nonsense. Sometimes people need to be saved from themselves.

Between this and Valdez being allowed to fight after being busted for PEDs, **** boxing. This sport is sick to its core. And I don't see it ever getting better.

Dude isn't just a fightin' grandpa now, he's potentially great-great-randfather age in the hood (if four consecutive generations all sire offspring at 14 or 15, neither of which is all that uncommon. So, have kid at 14, they give you a grandkid when you're 28, who in turn has your great-grandkid when you're 43, who in turn fathers your great-great when you're 58 like Holy is now)

Yep, definitely war Jono - and then...? I guess let's go Team Brazil? Get one (or two) back for Robson last night? I don't honestly care about Ortíz vs. Silva or Holyfield vs. Belfort as far as having any emotional investment (nor Haye vs. Fournier), just have a sort of morbid curiosity about how they pan out.
