How would these fighters do in today's heavyweight division? (State what rank they achieve and how much difficulty they find):

Joe Frazier (from first Ali fight)

George Foreman (from first Joe Frazier fight)

Muhammad Ali (from Cleveland Williams fight)

Sonny Liston (from either Patterson fight)

Joe Louis (from Max Schmeling rematch)

Rocky Marciano: (from Joe Walcott rematch)

Jack Dempsey: (from Jess Willard fight)

Personally I think they all destroy today's division and take the heavyweight crown for a long time. But I've heard different from other people

And for the love of all that's holy, try to come up with an argument better than "they're biggerrrrrrr"

Frazier would have trouble hitting AJ because he was one hand happy and more or less blind in one eye, Ali with extra flab on him was far more open to hooks than AJ is,, Muhammad used to move backwards on the centre line leaving him open to hooks and AJ`s right glove is always held higher than his lead hand, he blocked six hooks from Wlad when he was in trouble after the knockdown from the right hand and Povetkin missed a lot of hooks vs AJ compared to the right hand which landed often, Dempsey`s hook was his best punch and he would have missed AJ with it often, plus as he leaned forwards his head was right there for the jab, Marciano was harder to hit. Ali from the Williams fight would have landed the counter right all night vs AJ. Louis used to set up his right the same way Wlad did, so could knock AJ out. Liston`s most powerful punch was the hook and he might not land that vs AJ. Foreman`s body shots were great, Povetkin landed a lot of body shots vs AJ so. I feel Marciano would have good chance of landed a similar right to the one he hit Walcott with vs AJ but the size and reach different may be far too much.

I would say you’re right. Although Liston was great I don’t rate him as high as your other guys. He would contend though. Maybe Dempsey and Marciano and Joe are cruisers? I tend to think if they were all around today they would all be heavier due to weight training PEDs and other modern methods but that’s just speculation either way they would run away w the cruisers.

Marciano wouldn't fight cruiserweights, Marciano was dead set on being the heavyweight champion, that's why he fought heavyweight when, earlier in his career, he was known to get down to 178 pounds, 3 pounds away from LHW.

Marciano was a warrior who wanted to fight the big boys, anything less would've been a disgrace

Dempsey and Louis you're probably right about though

You just broke the world record for most times saying the name "AJ".

All would be champions today apart from Marciano and Dempsey whom Joshua would use as dental floss

Are their legends in today's era? Last one I saw was Mayweather jr. Fighters today and especially the heavyweights are lucky their competition is beyond weak and poorly trained.

Mayweather and Pacquaio are ATG tier imo, and Lomachenko has potential. but besides that yes, we're in a weak era

Has there ever been a time, when the "experts" have claimed, that NOW is the best time ever? Isn't it always about how the present is **** when compared to the "good old days"?

Marciano and Dempsey would destroy the heavyweight division? That more or less sets the tone for this thread, I suppose.

I'm pretty sure noone claimed that they were in a weak era in the early 70s.

Anyways nice try to generalize, but you can literally just watch boxing and tell we're in a weak era. Top tier heavyweights being fat and slow, guys like deontay who have no form whatsoever, guys getting busted with PEDs all the ****ing time

I'm sorry, but I can't literally tell that!

This decade alone, I've watched lots of fighters, who I believe could hold their own in most eras: Floyd, Pac, Ward, Rigo, Golovkin, Roman Gonzalez, Wladimir, Vitali... plus those where the final verdict isn't in yet, like Loma, Alvarez, Usyk, Inoue, Crawford, Spence, Bivol, Dogboe, Gassiev. Not really a weak era at all.
