Your poll was a childish little kneejerk reaction to Primo getting the rear end of the vote in the Bowe thread. Bumping this thread is again a childish kneejerk reaction to the other (Bowe) thread being tallied and bumped. It really is that obvious.
Blatantly loaded. If there was an option between the two extremes, something along the lines of: A moderately skilled heavyweight who lacked real power and durability and who was assisted along the way by some pre-arranged results.I'm confident that option would have taken the most votes!
It wasn't a knee jerk. As more evidences supported Carneras inclusion within modern super heavyweight debates the thread began to be entirely about Primos legitimacy. Obviously what was required was a vote on that subject. A simple "yay or nay" poll. It was overwhelmingly democratic.
This poll shows if history should remember Primo Carnera as a fraud or not. What's wrong with wanting to know if people regard him as a fraud or not? Why wouldn't anyone not care or not want to know the answer to this? Could it be that they prefer Primo is regarded as a circus strong man, not a real boxer, but a creation with a phoney career?
I long ago ceased being interested in your input, you can put up whatever you want, but no one takes you seriously anymore.
So you don't care if Primo is legitimate or not? I don't see what there is to get angry about. What's wrong with finding out most historians regard Primo as a real champion in his own right?
I believe the word you are looking for is Buffoon! " A buffoon is someone whose ridiculous behavior is a source of amusement to others. " Seems apt enough, lol.
The poll isn't "deceitful" but it is a bit nonsensical. For start, legimate champion and oaf are not mutually exclusive. Secondly, neither of the options matches the title without adding changes significantly. Thirdly, those are two extremes without any middle ground options.
Anyone could be forgiven for thinking this Poll had been revelational, if they only had the thread-starter's self-indulgent warbling to go by. The Poll garnered only a third of the interest that the 'Who was the better all-around fighter, Primo Carnera or Riddick Bowe?' Poll, which provided a much more useful theme of debate. Moreover, the Carnera/Bowe Poll offered an 'evens' option (though only one person needed it) for those who could not separate the two. The legitimacy question is something else altogether. My guess is that the majority would, at least, question Carnera's legitimacy, without going as far as to put their name to him being 'simply a fraudulent oaf'. To have had this as the only alternative to, 'Yes Primo paid his dues at world level', is indicative of someone going out of their way for an unbalanced result in their favor. The thread-starter's flag-waving of this Poll's result is actually quite amusing. Especially, since it has represented a particularly poor treatment of the topic. There's little else to be said about it, really.
