To, it's a title that is passed down in straight line, from fighter to fighter. If a fighter retires or leaves the division, a new lineage is started with the emergance of an undisputed champ.

If you want to dismiss Casamyor's case for being the legit LW champion, what the **** is Campbell's cased based upon? Beating Diaz? A lot of people thought Diaz was the number one, but he hadn't proven it either.

Neither man has a perfect case for being the linear champion. However, in certain cases, the number one fighting the number 2 becomes for the lineal title. When Corrales and Casamayor fought, that was the case.

It's not an undisputed champion though. it's the consensus number one vs. the number two. That is how the lineal title is decided, now with the belts.

Find me where it says this is how a vacant lineal title is decided.

You're wrong and I think this is where BigReg is getting mixed up too. The lineal title is always decided between the number one and number two guy, in the case of there being no lineal champion. The reason you can't be right is, the WBC was founded in the '60's, the IBF and WBo the '80's and the WBA in the 1920's. Back then, unfication bouts couldn't happen as there was only one belt, so the lineal title was decided between #1 and #2. that has never changed.

You could make a case for the undisputed champion also being lineal, and he probably would be as one of those three guys is surely the 1st or 2nd best in the division, but unifying all the titles and becoming undisputed is NOT how the lineal title is decided.
