Leif Larsen v Odlanier Solis Is Still On, ARNIE To Be Fight MC!!!

Bloody hell, what a strange fight. Solis has been brought in here as the opponent for this 10 rounder in Spain on October 12.

Larsen is the 37 year old former shot putter and Buffalo Bills defensive tackle who benched 225lb 45 times. His record is 16-0 with 13 KOs.

Larsen clearly trying to fast-track his way to the top here. He's never faced anyone even close to Solis's level before, his best opponent being shot Danny Williams who he brutally smashed to bits in 2 rounds last year.

I can't see anything other than a Solis win here. He's just too skilled for Larsen, who hits like a nitrous oxide powered freight train but is horribly crude.

Solis faced a very similar opponent last time out, Konstantin Airich, another concussive puncher lacking in skill. Solis easily won that fight by UD and I see a similar outcome here.

Fair play to Larsen though, for taking a massive step up. He's going to get exposed badly here though, and his team could surely have made a smaller step up rather than throwing him right in at the deep end like this.

 

Seriously? I know they were after him as an opponent before settling on Firtha I think. You got a source for that?

I really don't think Larsen stands a chance here. As much as I love massive punchers, Solis dealt with Airich easily last time out and this fight will go the same way. Unless Solis turns up HORRIBLY out of shape and Larsen shows us something new.

I just don't get why Larsen's team would bring in Solis as an opponent. He's so crude and unskilled, his jab is worse than mine and I only do padwork and body sparring at my uni club. His footwork is useless and he has no speed. He's pure power and nothing else. Even shot Danny Williams was dominating him until his non-existent punch resistance let him down.

From Solis's perspective, there's nothing to be gained from this fight unless he's getting paid loads by Larsen's team (but why would they pay loads to bring in a guy who will school their home fighter?)
