    The ref should have his license revoked, Warrington was clear headed and it was at the end of the round.

    Some refs will stop things too quick like this ref, and others will give guys way too much time to recover after a knockdown ("are you OK? Hands up, walk to me, now walk to the left, hmmmm OK now do the marcarena, OK, now vogue.....OK you can continue")

    Wood moving up sucks. His resume: Lara, Warrington, Can, Conlan. That's very solid. Imagine if he beat Kholmatov, Lopez vs Abe winner, Vargas vs Figueroa winner and then Ramirez+whoever he beat. He could be a legitimate HoFer by the time Inoue gets up there. Without Wood it's harder for Figueroa to grab it, too. Figueroa could beat Vargas, Lopez/Abe winner, Otabek (as champion) and Ramirez. Which would make his resume: Nery, Magsayo, Vargas, Lopez/Abe winner, Kholmatov and a controversial fight vs Fulton. Otabek and his limited resume instead of Wood would definitely take from his claim. Inoue vs Wood/Figueroa would be a super fight.

    Wood didn't look that great last night up until the finish where he showed that he's actually quite a clever boxer and KOd Warrington from the Southpaw stance.. very interesting career Wood, has had a bit of an Indian Summer... good entertaining little fighter , shame he's knocking on now..

    You're projecting, Olu. We can all allow our overenthusiasm to get the better of us at times, especially when it comes to matters of the flesh, but Sunny is a slick boxer and a defensive maestro and his style necessitates 100% focus and discipline 100% of the time. The slightest lapse in concentration and a punch he makes miss by a millimeter lands flush on his chin. That almost superhuman level of concentration and discipline has been honed in the gym and in the ring day in, day out since he was a young boy.

    That May all be true but the problem is Sunny is moving up in weight several classes to take on the GWOAT if the date happens. Can he keep it together my brother that is the question? Claressa will let us know how he performs but first he needs to beat Bam Bam which is no given.

    I will add I warm up to Sunny in a way I never found myself warming up to his brother Charlie.

    :lol: Mark my words, Olu, and I'm rarely wrong about these things. If Sunny defeats Bam, and Bam is clearly crapping his pants judging from his body language whenever he's in Sunny's presence, and the GWOAT is true to her word, she will never win another fight after he's seen to her. She'll be shot beyond belief after a Sunny bedroom workout.

    We will indeed and, like I said, hopefully GWOAT is as good as her word because Sunny is locked in, fired up, and raring to go and I'm not alluding to the Bam fight.

    I can't say say the ref was bent nor incompetent. I think Warrington was to blame for the stoppage, he gave the ref little option. Still, I do feel for Warrington a bit. He was good and seemed very fit on the night and I'd likely take him to win a rematch.

    Wood is 35. I like him a lot and hope he gets a good pay day and retires after.


    As an aside to this reply ...at the knockdown... as Warrington covers to a loose jab and goes to throw his right to the body - Wood's following right hook was just wonderful.

    You cannot turn your back. 99% of refs will stop the fight because it shows you either 1. Don't want to continue 2. Don't know where you are and cannot continue
