This punch was nothing but make up for the rest of the fight. He did a horrible fight full of flaws. He won with this punch, but if not for that punch lara doesnt finish the fight. He was out of his feet many times in different rounds, and it was because he has horrible fundamentals and low IQ for a champion.

He can punch and he has massive balls, though. And it means a lot in boxing, a freaking lot.

Need to see Warrington get KO'd by another Mexican, he should get the Lara triology if he wins another fight or one of Valdez or Navarette

An excellent mother, who instilled exceptional values in me, don't even ****ing go there.

Spare me the melodramatics. This whole rant sounds unhinged. Lara had been dead of his feet and running on empty, for a few rounds. Who's to say Lara wouldn't have blown his minimal load going wild, gassed, and Wood KO's him the next round. We're not talking about a fresh as a daisy fighter here.

In real time it seemed like an odd decision to throw in the towel. Having said that, 12 seconds is a long time seeing someone like Lara can throw three punches every second.

As I have stated and you just did, big difference Conlan v Lara. I thought it was stopped at the right time, a lot can happen in a few seconds in the boxing ring.

This is championship boxing. You don't toss in the towel under those circumstances. sheesh

Eh, I mean it's good the corner was looking out for their man, don't get me wrong. But he was pretty clear eyed standing up and this guy has a proven track record of recovering pretty well. The Conlan knockdown was pretty similar and there was a lot more time left. He should've been given the opportunity to get some recovery time, and if his corner was still worried then they could've thrown in the towel. Good fight all the same, but a bit of a disappointing ending.

I usually hate rematches but I wouldn't mind seeing one for this.

It was a very heavy knockdown. Wood was struggling to put his hands up. If the fight went on and he was too buzzed to put his hands up or clinch then he would of been murdered

The ref had already bought him 4, in reality there was about 7 or 8 seconds left.

I wish we could see Wood-Warrington and maybe Lara-Vargas instead of the rematch though, then the winners fight. Wood-Warrington just feels like such a no-brainer now, loser retires.

Yup. This is exactly like i visualized it. Wood winning rounds, landing good shots but Lara just eating and eating until he lands the vicious fight ending shot. And i like Wood a lot. But you have to go through fire to beat those Mexicans. Lara was never really GOOD. He was hurt and rocked and dropped by bums and low level fighters. But most of the time he just went through it and still won. He's fighting a classic old school Mexican fighting style.

What is wrong with modern, pussified boxing fans?? When this kind of **** happened back in my day, we SCREAMED at the screen, at these goddamn squeamish trainers or refs who deprived us of the definitive finishes we paid to see!!!

You don't throw the towel in for Gatti gene fighters, especially British ones. We are a warrior people and we are never out of a fight untill we are out cold on the canvas and even then we still have a chance.

Remember Steve Davies, I think it was, ignoring the towel, Ritson v Ponce, I think.
