    Wood was stupid because he forgot the old adage “don’t hook with a hooker”. Call it possum or roping a dope the fact is Lara was looking to stop Wood and he did. He realised he could hurt him and he could take what Wood was dishing out. Did you really think Wood had this in the bag?

    Even when I go with emotion because a guy is my guy I am honest enough to tell him about the mistake he made. By the way I like Wood but let’s not lie to ourselves as well as he fought at times yesterday he allowed himself to be in a position to be hurt and stopped. As for Davidson throwing in the towel it’s easy for keyboard warriors on here to shout premature stoppage but if the fight continues and he got maimed the same guys would hardly care. This way Wood can come again.

    I am not back peddling. I just cannot agree that the towel should not have been thrown. By the way when Ajose fought Lucas Matthyse in Las Vegas we had to throw in the towel so perhaps I know what I am talking about.

    A lot of people saying "Just let him see out the round"

    Lara was waiting right on top of him and could have easily landed a barrage of hard shots in 10 seconds.

    Gotta say the stoppage reminded me of when Jhonny Gonzalez got dropped by Israel Vazquez and his corner threw in the towel even while he was still ahead on the scorecards. Gonzalez looked ok enough to still keep going but his corner didn’t think so. Same thing with what happened to Wood vs Lara.

    People judging Gatti gene warriors by the same standard they judge other fighters by :facepalm:

    Newsflash: Gatti gene warriors are super warriors and the reason they're can't miss much watch TV is because they provide us with these miraculous ''Wow did you see that!?'' moments where they inexplicably comeback from the brink of certain defeat where just as many were last night with Wood we were all convinced they were completely done.

    We Brits are a warrior people

    Two of these were from last year alone and the other fairly recently

    This one was too albeit it's a lesser extent Gatti moment
