really? and how is he supposed to do that if wood takes a knee once the referee ends the count?

Nah... that towel was utterly out of place. There are 1 million ways to survive 10 seconds in a fight that you are winning 5-1. Specially after watching lara being completely unable to do **** in the clinches. Because once wood entangled lara in the clinch, lara couldnt do **** and it happened like that during 6 rounds in a row. I dont know what fight were many people watching, but in the fight that I was watching wood surviving 10 seconds is not something impossible AT ALL. I would even say that wood surviving lara 10 seconds was the expected outcome taking into account the previous 6 rounds.

Plus Lara was out of his feet many times in many rounds in this fight. Lara was totally ****ed and running into wood's left hood non-stop. That towel was a freaking shame.

People judging Gatti gene warriors by the same standard they judge other fighters by

And a British one at that

Newsflash: Gatti gene warriors are super warriors and the reason they're can't miss much watch TV is because they provide us with these miraculous ''Wow did you see that!?'' moments where they inexplicably comeback from the brink of certain defeat where just as many were last night with Wood we were all convinced they were completely done.

We Brits are a warrior people

Two of these were from last year alone and the other fairly recently

    Wood vs Conlan
    Fury vs The Dosser
    Gill vs Guerfi

This one was too albeit it's a lesser extent Gatti moment

I agree i thought both fights Wood/Lara Nery/Hovhannisyan both ended prematurely.

    "If Wood takes a knee"

The shaky Wood would have the wherewithal to be so rational?

The next punch could have been a haymaker that landed equally as clean on the disorientated Wood, ya know...the sort of thing that happens ALL THE TIME after a massive KD.

Taking a knee is not even "the rational" approach. It is simply the easiest one. You can spit your mouth piece, to follow the referee's back to hide from him.... there are tons of more rational approaches than taking a knee

A hey maker? how many hey makers did lara connect in the fight? Lara wasnt able to connect ****, specially in the clinches where was desperately inefficient for a guy with his experience. Could it be a hey maker? yes, why not? but the most plausible thing was lara being clinched for 10 seconds and doing nothing, basically because it is what happened for 6 rounds in a row every time lara was in a clinch.

That towell was ridiculous. Plus you talk as if lara were making a hell of a fight or something like that, when lara wasnt doing **** and was fighting like total crap.

How many haymakers did Lara land in the fight?

How many times was Wood one ***** Street with an aggressive Lara going in for the kill?

Doesn't matter what Lara was fighting like up to this point. He landed a huge punch that had Wood that knocked Wood down hard and Wood clearly hadn't recovered which you could see when Davidson was basically holding him up 20 seconds later.

You can argue both ways on the stoppage, but it wasn't some weirdly bad towel throw, as if Wood was bouncing around and landing on lara when it was thrown.

I think we have to go with the corners on this. A highly accomplished trainer educated me that a trainer must know a fighter’s limits better than the fighter himself.

Of course it was some weirdly bad towel throw. No doubt at all about it. It's so freaking weird and bad that I have never ever watched something like this before. That's how weird and how bad it is.

I agree they are a compelling watch on TV. I loved Gatti’s trilogy with Irish Micky Ward from an entertainment perspective less so from a skills perspective. I particularly enjoyed Floyd’s destruction of Gatti to win the WBC belt at 140 pounds which was Floyd’s first PPV.

Dear @Serge, @CST80 , @Pimp C ,@chacal ,@Komaster et al, please see this Carl Froch video below. Froch initially thought it was a premature stoppage but he spoke to Wood his town man in Nottingham this morning and admitted he was gone:
