Anybody saying Davidson saved Wood's life probably thinks the covid jab saves lives. It was terrible and shows complete lack of awareness of round timing.

 

I feel sorry for the British ref. He was all set to delay the resumption & get Woodpecker through to the end of the round. And then the rug is unceremoniously pulled out from underneath him when the towel comes in from the corner. The poor bloke was ready to strut his stuff but never got the chance.

But srlsy, Wood/Conaln and Froch/Groves were all early on so I guess trainers see recovery as more probable. Fact is though: Wood trained, put in the woek. The hours, the blood and sweat for this moment - it's now or never. You have to give your guy every possible chance, without endangering him. I think the round should've been ended, reassessed their man and then pulled him after a minute's rest. Also, if he goes on to win the rematch comfortably, and gets his scalp, maybe we'll be saying something different.

 

Yes, he better thinks like that. Because if he doesnt he has to fire his trainer. I understand he doesnt have the balls to do so, no problem, it's not easy.

 

Same with Froch comments today. He's not going to say "my fellow friend is a cuckold who has not the guts to fire his idiot trainer". They are friends/fellows, Froch has nothing to win here, he says whatever is more polite, retires yesterday's words and forgets about it. That's totally understandable.

Still, it doesnt change the fact that the corner ****ed up really hard.
