He could have also been knocked out. Start at 2:50.

WoW just watched the end of this, considering how he got up stabilized a bit put his gloves up to show the ref he was ready. And Ben Dunce threw the towel in WTF check out how he came back against Conlan

Mosley had a career ko percentage of 67. Lara is at 65, at 24 years old. Don’t be so quick to dismiss the facts. There was plenty of time for Lara to get a combo in especially when he was right behind the ref.

Thats now how fights are started after a knock down. You are suppose to be in the neutral corner. He isn't going to get to pounce on Wood from behind the ref.

Mosley was 32-0 30 kos as a LW, lets not dismiss that fact either. What is that like a 98% KO ratio? I don't like comparing other fights because every fight has a different set of circumstances. I stand by what I said earlier, and that it was a bad call on the corners behalf and that he should have been given the chance to finish out the round.

Really enjoyed this fight. Kind of a shame that Wood lost because he was building up to be somewhat of a name among Brits and a minor DAZN star. I don't know how many Lara rematches the British public can stomach at this point

Doesn’t matter if it was a bad call. The facts remain, there was plenty of time for Lara to do more damage just as there was time for Wood to grab and hold. It’s ok to say both instances have happened. To try and pretend only one of those two is possible is disingenuous. That’s the point.

We all know how fights are supposed to continue after a knockdown, but we all know that doesn’t always happen. Was Mosley in the corner? No. People said Wood had time to clinch. Fighters aren’t supposed to clinch either.

If you think the ref was going to start the fight without separating them to neutral corner first ,you’re crazy. This ref was doing everything he can to buy Wood time. Clinching is allowed. It’s a legal defensive technique.

Apparently, according to this video, there was some confusion in the corner regarding how much time was remaining in the round. Davison should've been on top of that and tried to buy some time for Wood by getting on the ref's ass about Lara leaving the neutral corner instead of throwing the towel in that quickly. Angel0 Dundee's corner shenanigans bought Ali valuable recovery time and arguably saved him from defeat, Davison should've had his thinking cap on too but he was more preoccupied with how beautiful his flaxen locks looked.

Also, they opted to take on one of the biggest punchers in the sport for a voluntary defence, just Wood's second defence after coming within a whisker of losing the title via KO to a fighter not considered a big puncher in his first defence. It's admirable Wood didn't try to milk the title but there was big money domestic fights out there for him in Warrington, the rematch against Conlan (yeah I know he's Irish but I consider that domestic), or even against someone like Kiko who has been a regular visitor to these shores and is fellow Gatti gene warrior like Wood albeit a much older one with a lot more miles on his clock. Lara is young and very fresh and Wood could've secured his future financially first against those domestic opponents before taking him on. If I was in Davison's shoes I wouldn't have opted to take on Lara for a voluntary defence.

The worst thing about it is both Davison and Froch are fellow Brits and they both know how prevalent the Gatti gene in us Brits and how we're famous worldwide for the being the fiercest warriors
