Lemieux is Eyeing on Cotto Match

    Lemieux has shown interest to be cotto's farewell opponent in December should cotto is victorious this month.
    I doubt Cotto's camp will be interested. It would be different if Lemieux actually hold a belt.

    Assuming it happens, would cotto be beaten into submission or he has enough in the tank to outbox the limited puncher in Lemieux?

    Not gonna happen. The Canadian can barely make 160 and Cotto will not climb that high.
    Cotto will likely ride off into the sunset at 154 and rightfully so.

    Lemieux should have fought Billy Joe Saunders. Waiting for Cotto is a mistake, he won't get that fight.

    Even at 160 Lemieux gets Geale'd, gulf in skill level is way too much.

    Not a good fight for Cotto.. Unless he drains Lemiux down to 154 or some lame catchweight.. Hopefuly this doesn't happen.. Cotto doesn't need this .. He should get a fight at 154 should he get passed Kamegai and call it a day.. its well deserved.. Cotto is a million times better than Lemiux but at this stage it would be an unnecesary fight for him..

    Lemieux will not only stop Cotto, but help him onto the stretcher as well. Canadians are thoughtful in that way.

    Safe for you to say that given that Cotto will never fight Lemieux, unless Lemmy is drained to a zombie like Geale or crippled like Martinez was.

    Dumb move by Lemieux to angle for that fight. He may as well be waiting on McGregor-Mayweather's winner/loser.

    bad fight for david. not enough defense, cotto would counter him to a win. even this older cotto! just a way better boxer than david.

    Cotto is obviously more skilled, but Lemieux is bigger and stronger than him, plus younger, hungrier. It would be a dangerous fight for Cotto at this stage of his career. You can bet on that he won't fight Lemieux (I don't blame him for that, Cotto had a solid career, he has nothing left to prove).

    Fair enough assessment but imo Cottos jab alone would give Lemieux fits.
