This. Saunders has been somewhat of a disappointment. He had a ton of momentum coming off the Andy Lee fight where he looked great and just let that momentum die. If Saunders stayed on top of his game and continued fighting good competition he would've easily been the number two guy at 160.

When was the last time Saunders beat MW champion? LOL

Both guys have some decent wins (Lemieux: Rosado, N´Dam, Stevens, Guerrero. Saunders: small Christopher, Lee, Monroe jr. and Fletcher), but neither of them has beaten any real champions (Saunders beat Lee who had a paper title, Lemieux beat N´dam who was gifted a paper title later on). Both have got/had title only once, that´s pretty much where they are at the moment.

Competition has been pretty much the same, but IMO Saunders (against Lee, small Christopher, Akakov) has struggled more. Actually Lemieux has beat all his opponents quite convincingly (N´dam, Rosado, Stevens, Guerrero) and has been much more active than Saunders. In that sense, they are at the same stage and level in their careers.

Btw. Golovkin is the last MW champion who has unified titles since Bernard Hopkins (2004) --> Lemieux is the last champion since De La Hoya (2004) who tryed and failed to unify. All four need some respect.

Lemieux's opposition is a JOKE, plus he has been completely outboxed twice, and KTFO by a shot blown up 154 lb journeyman. The fact that you have Rosado as a top win for Lemieux further proves how horrid his resume is.

Lemieux has some very solid victories, what's such a "joke" about his resume?

 

Why are people over rating Saunders....will be a good fight but my feelings are it will not end well for Saunders...

 

How big of a reach advantage does Saunders have in this fight? It should be big because Lemieux has some short arms for the division. This alone should damn near win Saunders the fight combined with his movement he should be able to dictate distance and control range all night long on Lemieux.
