Middleweight prospect David Lemieux vs Elvin Ayala this friday.

Do you think if Lemieux wins he can get a title fight late 2010/early 2011 ?

He could but does he want one?? His camp might want him to move slow but maybe they will move a little fast and get him a title shot. I guess it all depends on how he looks the further he steps up in class.

I'm sure he could, there are/will be an unbelievable number of paper champions at middleweight that he could beat. It would mean little though, unless he fights Martinez, and he's some way off that.

Lemieux and Duddy got 1 common opponent , Walid Smichet . A lot of people have seen him winning against Duddy in a really entertaining fight, maybe Duddy wasn't at is best but the fight was pretty close!

Lemieux put down Smichet in 3 .

I know that we can't judge how a fight could be by looking at there common opponent because walid had been in some though war but it give a good idea of David strenght!

There isn't a hope in hell of that happening. A top rank fighter will be fighting the winner.

I think he should take a steady rise in opponents for his next four or five fights. By then he should be polished enough if he comes through those fights. He is still a kid to be fair. No rush, but he shouldn't be fighting bums either.

Solid step-up. Ayala could give Lemieux problems with his style and a tough boxing match with his experience. He's very hard to put away and I'd be very impressed to see Lemieux repeating Abraham's finish. A competitive full 12 rounder is more likely, I for one would love to see Lemieux going the distance and showing whether he can come up with anything fancy in the 2nd half of the fight, as at times it seemed to me he boxes in a (pretty impressive) single dimension.

I think Lemieux WILL stop Ayala late...Lemieux's workrate is by far better than Abraham's one...Lemieux throws a bunch of punches the whole fight...Abraham explode only in spurts and after that he covers up ...

Lemieux would bury either one of those bums.

Lemieux looks like he could be the real deal. His power is legit, and he's only 21.

I got my fingers crossed for this kid. Russ Anber says he wants to slowly increase the competition though since he's only 21 so I doubt we'll see him fighting for a title til 2012 which is proly for the better. Lets see how he does against Ayala who's a decent fighter himself, if he can easily dispose of Ayala then maybe they should start moving towards a title fight asap.
