At 21 BHop hadn't turned pro. Jermain Taylor hadn't turned pro yet. Pavlik was fighting guys like Eric Olds and Able Hernandez. The fact that Lemieux is fighting Elvin Ayala at such a tender young age is a very good sign. Let's hope such a bold move doesn't backfire.
Agree. Lemieux' power seems special. He will need more tools when he faces good opposition though. It's tough to choose opponents for him because if they are not good, he just smashes them and doesn't learn a thing. At 21, Ayala is an excellent name on his resume.
I like this fight. I think we're pretty much on the same page. Lemieux can't just rush in swinging for the fences against Ayala. If he does, he'll spend the whole night missing, and getting slapped around. He'll have to show some ring smarts, discipline, and skill to set up the big shots. Like I said on another thread: Ayala will show us exactly where David stands.
In his last 3-4 fights Lemieux was attaking the body more and more so it will open opportunity to hit great shots to the head!
No idea! I'll be rooting for David because I have always been a sucker for middleweights who can bang, but those odds do not reflect reality.
