I agree about seeing Lemieux fight someone that'll give him a good challenge. In regards to Alvarez now, that kid brings in HUGE NUMBERS from Mexico and has an overall big following for such a young man, therefore the money is there for him to pay good fighters to face him + Golden Boy is financially more capable of putting those fights together financially speaking. Lemieux only had a crowd of 1200 people to see him yesterday...
You could tell Russ was concerned for Camacho too. Have to agree with darryl1914, it's time to up this guy's competition.
Thats a really good point actually...If Lemieux wanted to fight other big name fighters he'd probably have to go to there back yards right now...he needs to get a network interested in him...I'd love to see this guy on BAD or ShowTime...
Well the smart thing to do would be to put Lemieux on the undercard of the Hopkins-Pascal fight which is on SHOWTIME but I guess it's not happenin'...
David Lemieux has a grand total of 53 rounds of professional boxing under his belt. In my opinion that number is more important than the 24 total pro fights. He needs to fight 2 or 3 fights against opponents who can force him to put in some rounds. He needs a couple tough, cagey, experienced guys before he makes his move. Right now David's promoter is talking a lot of smack about guys who would put a beating on young David. I hope the hell that doesn't happen.
Camacho Jr. had so much talent but no heart, not an ounce. I remember when he was undefeated and went up against Jesse James Leija and at his first taste of someone being able to fight back, he quit. I can't remember the exact details but the fight ended early and ruled a no contest because Camacho didn't want to continue.
shame. camacho has some good hand speed and a couple of nice counters before gettin blitzed. shame he's pissed away a career. he should be fightin lmw/welter
