Lemieux vs. Reyes, Diaz vs. Avila Added To Canelo-Chavez

    LOS ANGELES – Less than two months after delivering the top knockout of 2017, Canadian knockout artist David Lemieux (37-3, 33 KOs) will return in a 10-round fight against Marco “Dorado” Reyes (34-4, 25 KOs) as the chief support to the highly anticipated battle between Canelo Álvarez and Julio Cesar Chávez, Jr. on Saturday, May 6. The mega-event will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT. Opening up the stacked Cinco de Mayo weekend card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, former U.S. Olympian and current undefeated NABF Featherweight champion Joseph “JoJo” Diaz, Jr. (23-0, 13 KOs) will face perhaps his toughest challenge to date when he defends his title against the undefeated Manuel “Tino” Avila (22-0, 8 KOs) in a 10-round battle. These two fights along with the main event and the previously announced brawl between Argentinian slugger Lucas “La Maquina” Matthysse (37-4, 34 KOs) and Emmanuel “Tranzformer” Taylor (20-4, 14 KOs) will round out the pay-per-view telecast on Saturday May 6.

    No surprises here, I was expecting Lemieux and JoJo Diaz to fill this card.
    I suppose that Lemieux vs Reyes will be at a catchweight above 160

    lemmy will get another nice K.O and after this for sure a big money fight. You know a lot of people said it was over for him when he lost to rubio, he has made it very far.

    Lemieux vs Reyes decent scrap. Reyes gave Chavez jr a good fight last year. Lemieux should stop him.

    Might be a catchweight since Reyes fought at Smw recently

    Lemieux is wasting no time. He didn't suffer as much as a scratch while knocking out Stevens and now he's ready for more. Something tells me he would have fought again that very night if given the chance. Stevens was just a warm up for him. Throwback fighter, Lemieux is. Limited, but vicious and hungry.

    It was a smart move by Golden Boy to put him on the card for what will likely be another highlight reel KO for him. Between him and the return of Matthysse, fans of action fighters are sure to be pleased with that undercard.

    I like Lemieux but I dont want to see him fight Canelo in Seltember.
    I want Jacobs vs Lemieux in September for an eliminator for one of the belts. That would be a great fight.
    And what options do they have at 160? Not that many
