Lemieux vs. Rubio: WBC Title Eliminator!

Explain what's wrong with a demanded WBC title eliminator fight ? It's not like they're fighting the #15th ranked guy in the standings. This next fight is for the right to fight the winner of Williams-Martinez.

There's been a lot of **** cards in the past but this fight, like it or not is legit and for a shot at the title.

 

if lemieux's team were smart they'd get another year under his belt before williams or martinez...fight 4-5 fights in 2011 vs top 20 level opposition with a couple top 10's and then go the gusto.

 

As easy to hit as Paul Williams is, I dont like his chances vs Lemeuix.... even now.

I like Lemieux's potential, But dude is still way to Green.

 

I think Lemieux's team is rather smart. He fights on December 3, then I guess Rubio in february. He already has another fight scheduled in April.

His eliminator is to fight against Martinez-Williams winner. But Zbik is the interim champ, so he'll get his shot before Lemieux. Zbik could fight the winner around May.

Lemieux's promoter always has a show in june, the same weekend that the F1 Grand Prix in Montreal. Lemieux will most likely fight there.

That's already 4 fights for Lemieux before he gets his shot, and that's if he doesn't get it later. I doubt that Martinez-Williams winner will be happy to have 2 fights in a row against guys who aren't big names. I wouldn'tbe surprised if by then the belt is vacated.

You cant help but be impressed with Lemieux right now. It will be interesting to see though how he fairs with say a Golovkin type fighter who is technically very good and has comparable or even better power than his.
