Lemieux easily. Spence is a very easy match up for him, someone smaller who would stand in front of him and can't hurt him. I have very high opinion of Spence but weight classes exist for a reason. The only way someone from 147 would beat Lemieux is with a disciplined stick and move strategy and plain old running and I don't think anyone can do that right now. Lemieux was eating all kinds of shots from GGG and nothing happened (in terms of long term damage), look at what happened to Brook. There's no way Spence could threaten him with anything.
Spence was smaller than Brook. Spence can move to 154 in a few years and stop there. At 160 he gets cracked
I'm opposed to guys jumping weights because fans see a special talent who can sweep the division. It is not fair for the special talent to be expected to fight guys a lot bigger just to prove how special they are. Look at what happened to Brook after fighting GGG. Brook is a great fighter but he got busted up. And may have suffered too much damage to recover. For what?
why on earth do guys have to move up the second they win a belt? some of you guys are nuts. is it to find someone to beat the new champ? moving up two weights to fight a non titlist would be especially crazy.
Spence wins. Lemieux is a good puncher but he lacks skills. Looked super limited against GGG, couldn't go anything. I'm not talking about winning, but doing something before getting KO'd. I guarantee Spence would do better vs GGG even if he ends up KO'd.
