This would be over quick. Lemieux would mess Quillin up badly. He's the weakest of the champions and doesn't have the foot speed or the defense to survive. Lemieux actaully has pretty decent defense for a pressure fighter. He does sometimes pull straight back, which is the shot that Rubio got him with. But Rubio had to sit on the ropes eating bombs for 6 rounds. I don't think Quillin can do this.
Actually I favor Quillin early in the fight, he has more rounded skills that we have seen. The question is how much DL has matured and does he take his conditioning seriously now. Some people have been saying that he does, and is 100% committed to his fight career at all times. Early rounds wouldnt be as easy for DL as some think. But if David can now fight all 12 rounds or close, Quillins tendency to flounder and lose focus in the mid and later rounds could easily get him stopped if DL can be explosive in rounds 6-9
"I don't know. I just don't know." - Jester, Top Gun ('86) :conf If David figures out Quillin's footwork and philly shell at close to mid range, he can do it and stop Quillin. Measured pace and well timed bombs. Otherwise Quillin will keep him on the end of his jab and land big left hooks at some point - UD or mid to late round stoppage.
Not sure about the chin of Lemieux yet. I'll take Lemieux if his chin is in par with Quilin. Great match up!
Quillin Sucks. Lemieux bum rushes him and KOs him early. Whoever the guy was that suggested Lemieux vs Kirkland is fuuking genius and should run for president
