That's rather funny. I saw an interview of him yesterday saying he added a nutritionist to his team because he had problem making weight and had to change his habits and that it was easier now to make weight. Right...
It takes a lot to be a professional boxer. The diet regimen is extreme. Lemiuex made up to 2 million in the GGG fight. So he has to work hard to maintain that level of earnings. I can see why figgters lose the motivation to keep the weight down after they make some coin.
I like Lemieux, this is dissapointing. He needs to get his **** together or hang it up. He's too small to conpete at super middleweight
There are rumors that Francy N'Tetu has put himself forward as a possible replacement opponent. However he's a super middleweight so I have no clue how that could possibly happen, especially with a 24h notice.
So with Wlad out of the picture(for the time being at least) looks like you've found another fighter to fanatically hate/talk **** about.
A dull weekend for boxing just became even more a dull.... At the very least we were looking at a brutal Lemieux KO, now just Braehmer/Gutknecht and Flanagan/ Mathews rematches..... atsch
The nutrionist came with a short term weight cut strategy and it failed. Lemieux felt sick and was apparently sick this week, which seemed to play a role. He didn't came in 10 pounds heavier, but 2,5. He was trying to make the weight but fell short.
