Dont' know what you're talking about but if you speak about Eric Lucas, he fought Jones Jr. in his prime and went 11 rounds before the reff stopped the bout. After the fight, Jones Jr. even said that lucas would be world champ and even invited him to be his sparring partner.

Well...I don't give a **** about my french heritage and most of people doesn't give a damn over here. We're a mix of a lot of culture (french, english, irish) but still, it was 200-300 years ago...

People over here are confusing French and French-Canadian...as simple as that.

He's South American, and?? So isn't Argentine soccer great Lionel Messi. Are you suggesting they both share the same "blood" as well, when one is clearly of Italian descent and the other is not?

Read Diego Morilla's piece about Lucas. His heritage is European.

Being a french Quebecker, I can tell you that a lot of people don't like people from France for different reason and that this attitude comes even from New France as a lot of the lords and governor came from France and regarded as disconected from the grass root reality of what was then call of canadians (which were French canadians -- which became Quebeckers for the most part, or franco ontarian, franco manitobain, etc. outside of Quebec) Quite a few have native blood (along with a lot of Irish blood with the mildoue potatoe which sent quite a few of those in Quebec since it was catholic).

Quebec had 15 world titlists in boxing, had one of the greatest ever mma fighters (GSP), and a great kick boxer (JYT 76 fights....69 wins....61KOs). In a 8 millions people state, I guess that means we can fight. If France hadn't sent Montcalm who didn't know what he was doing to "protect" us, we would probably still be free. ;):deal

So STFU and stay out of the way of people who do.

FYI they program sheep like you to not care about your heritage.

Who the hell are you? Stay in Mexico. I'm probably more awake than you are. Keep watching CNN and FOX and don't read between the lines. Your intervention was unnecessary. We're proud of who we are, that's it.

Dos Huevos, read the previous post. If you have a bit of a brain, you'll understand what Technocrato is saying.

"French Canadian" should be interpreted as "French speaking" canadian. We dont even use that expression in Quebec anymore to describe who we are. We feel as disconnected from France as Americans are from the UK. In general, I believe we should stick to citizenship. David Lemieux is Canadian, period.
