Kazuki Nakajima vs. Shingo Wake, 12 rounds @ super bantamweight

 

This is for the OPBF championship at 122lbs, first defense of Nakajima.

 

Round 1

Nakajima is studying his fellow southpaw, melting away from jabs to gauge his range before stepping in with his own. Wake the more aggressive in the opening half-minute. Fencing duel with jabs for the most part early. Nakajima first to go downstairs, a couple of heavy straight lefts on the body. Wake first to rattle off a combination, a 1-1-2 running in. Wake throwing in threes as he circles to his left. Nakajima covering up but getting hit. Crowd electrified by a big sequence, Nakajima scoring a wide right hook and Wake a big counter left at the same time. Wake slams a jab into the pinned together forearms of Nakajima, then buries a left cross in his stomach to drive him back.

10-9 Wake, very competitive opener.

 

Round 2

Wake swarming in, smothering Nakajima up close and banging either side of the body. Nakajima tries prying him off with hooks and uppercuts. They're freely trading on the inside until getting entangled. They wrestle and Wake is shoved between the ropes. Heavy body shots by Nakajima, seeming to hurt Wake. Nakajima catches Wake slouching over in pain from the body shots with his chin an open target, several hooks from Nakajima, Wake attempting to duck and weave but his legs splayed, gangly, slow and wobbly. He totters on the heel of his frontfoot a moment before finally getting knocked on his backside.

Ahh, no, I've been misunderstood every which way here. I was just quoting PT's last post because this is the first RBR that I've made since noticing it (the content of the message was immaterial, beyond the fact that he was hinting at wanting to be on the rollcall).

I took it as someone appealing for entry - which, the criteria is basically for neither of us to consider you a tool - and CST's liking the comment as tacit co-approval. No disrespect PT but I'd completely forgotten that you were on it before (we get a lot of supplicants, plus ADHD...) - and it seems like you somehow fell off circa the Usyk-Fury RBR. No clue how, but anyway...presto change-o abracadabra you're on there now. Er, again, not for the first time as I was thinking was the case when making that post earlier.
